  • Pit Migration Suggestion

As controversial posts get abducted and thrown into the Pit Migration thread, they are orphaned from their source thread, and we are left wondering where they came from. So when you read the Pit Migration thread, it is disorganized, makes little sense, and doesn't read very well.

This can be solved by adding a subtitle to all the posts that get dunked into the Piranha Pit.

For example, when a new post gets moved to Pit Migration, the post should be subtitled to something along the lines of, "Split from Lounge Chat," "Split from the Stoner Den of Niceness," etc.

    I'm OK with it.

    It's a kinda figure-it-out Treasure/Easter egg hunt thread.

On second thought, I'm more than OK with it, I like it just how it is.

In theee end, it's just a Swedish asshole smörgåsbord to pick through and eat out of. I gravitate to the Salmon Shit. I'll pass on the eel and herring bullshit.

I like the idea. Helpful to know where the original “feud” started to understand why they feel the way they do. So I can pick a side.

      jk!

If there was a way to make this happen automatically, I'd be open to the idea. But if it means typing that stuff in, no. That's too much time wasted.

Agreed. I'm not really willing to put in extra work because someone decided they wanted to act like an asshole again.

The whole point of Pit Migration is to disassociate posts from the surrounding context, it serves as an alternative to deleting posts.

The general thread is probably best to be viewed by first grabbing a stiff drink and then looking at it as a collage of the most crude, trolling and vile posts Treefort has to offer. If that sort of thing entertains you.

Yeah. If you were involved in the drama that got moved there, you know where it's from. If you weren't involved.. then whhhyyy.. you just have too much spare time.

Jeez if typing a few words “split from...” sounds so toilsome, you guys must have it pretty easy.

The nasty and trollish posts that get separated can often make for an entertaining discussion. Once they’ve been diverted from the original thread, it gives the readers a bit of understanding of the context of the migrated post. That’s all I’m suggesting. Good and interesting chat comes from the pit migration thread. It’s more than a dumpster.

SpaceMan you called Jessica and me out specifically a couple of months ago in the chat thread because we weren't around to deal with the Aussies lol. So it seems sometimes you don't mind moderation and actually prefer it.

Which is also the reason for so many mods, the Aussies
And that's also the reason we have such a large volume of posts moved to the Pit which makes it impossible to comply with 6's request. The Aussies.
And...yeah. none of us want to spend our time here moderating, much less over moderating. We would rather chat and hang out. But when the same people are constantly making this an unpleasant place to be because all they ever do is throw personal attacks at each other then...yeah, it has to be dealt with. And the more we have to spend our time here moving posts the more likely we are to enforce existing rules and start giving infractions or temporary bans because...why keep doing all this work when no one respects us enough to just put it in the Pit in the first place?

SpaceMan 6 suggested the Pit and I loved it. your bitterness IS amusing. i consider 6 a kind of friend. he's cool and thinks crazy things i can tease about : ) also, "friends" have suggested things I disagree with and won't do.

6, imagine i have five times in a day where i have ten minutes i can spend on the forum. If I come online and have to assess the posts someone is complaining about, move them and possibly others connected to it, THEN edit each one to type that stuff in.. i'm not even likely to feel like coming back online later lol
                    i agree that it's easy, but time-consuming.

I see you aren't aware of how many posts we actually move to the Pit lol

It would be way too time consuming

Nobody here gets paid to do this. When people decide to act like dicks and break the rules by insulting each other like children or posting vile shit for no other reason than to piss people off, why would you expect us to take more than the minimum amount of our free time to deal with it?

We made our own forum because we wanted a place to hang out and chat, and we couldn't do that at the other place anymore. We didn't make it so that we could babysit a bunch of grown ass people without social skills.

                        Here's an idea
If people are clowning about too much and are deliberately disrupting the threads can you thread ban them?
It just means they cannot reply to threads until they change their behaviour.

99 times out of 100, the feud started on a different website.

98 of those times, it was a different website in australia.

Then you get threads that are started that are in a negaitive tone.
People who crack the shits all the time seem to forget that they have an attitude problem.

Also another idea for all of us aussies.
Create a forum each and then post about each other's forum away from here.

Then come back and just be yourselves on here.

Just to stop fucking around with the admins and staff on here.
I'm sure they don't like mass moving posts down to the pit all the time.

It's one of the reasons why i have my own forum as well as posting on here.

My own forum has a thread that is dedicated to discussing stuff that is funny that happens on here.

It gets spoken about and threads like this one also get a copied link of it for people to read.

So all the good stuff gets taken on board.
