I think the issue is mostly about some of the Aussie's going at each other. There was some discussion about this on the SL thread.

I'm not even sure people even want the discussion to migrate here, so we'll see.

Personally I don’t think there is anything needs fixing at the Fort. Sooz and others can use the feature to ignore if they want. Mods should not have to censor people because others don’t like someone.

like in real life, you simply ignore those that you don’t want to have contact with and avoid... or engage, the choice is individual.

Yep micko, I think she reports a lot. I wonder if there is a way to take that feature away from one person... it must be annoying to mods. What if mods put that one on ignore, Will their notifications of reports from that one stop?

Yea, but that becomes Quixotic when you consider the range of personalities. Already we are seeing a different face even though some of us have been sparring on Hum Fingers for years. For the most part I have tried to refrain from the kind of shit that had people accusing me of being a klansman, nazi or just plain redneck (laughable). Some of this was to be expected. People usually go into something like this from an exploratory angle.

But after a hundred days or so most of the veneer has been washed away and manners take a nosedive. I'm actually surprised we didn't suffer an escalation of all that shit. Sure, shit carried over and was left dangling like before. But we're creeping into a year of this and the basic premise of the site is holding fast and reliable. It's a private site with public read access in certain areas. There's also a direct dark web connection for the Mussolini threads.

I was never a hanging judge kind of moderator over at Skippy's Playhouse-adyl. I usually deferred to more senior mods unless it was a spammer. This thing I see around here with teams of people slinging shit back and forth in the harshest of terms, reaching for the fucking soul kind of shit, is perplexing. It's so regular, irreconcilable and yet, I am not inclined to do anything more than toss the really bad shit into the pit. I rarely go there.

By the way, I do hope the monkey-spanks and wanks who toss around the really stupid, FBI-attracting shit are wise enough to be using a VPN with Disneyland, Wakanda or Xanadu as their home country. IJS

It starts when you have rules stating that this forum isn't going to be heavily moderated.

Which totally proves my point. Too much childish shit is allowed and totally let go when ideally it should actually be prevented.
So my suggestion is that you change the software to xf2, don't make it a heavily moderated forum but thread bans are needed for those that constantly stink up the forum. Then if it becomes worse you get the infractions involved.

This here highlights the biggest problem.
Susan can call someone racist with zero foundation and not be censored . Some people here get a free pass to insult and abuse then when others do the same back they are banned.

If you can't mod impartially you shouldn't be one.

I just think once you ban the Aussies , it becomes like other sites where you don't know where to draw the line and soon anyone who isn't desired gets banned.

My threads about Mussolini I keep in occult or piranha pit but I did mention his headquarters on my scorpion thread because of it's link to something scorpion related.

My bad but it was a thread about scorpions, not promoting fascism.

My defense of Fascism is strictly a belief that society , the media, and the entertainment industry teaches people to be stupid, lustful, worthless, breaks up families, and damages brains.

A type of Fascist approach to purging society of certain things that are clearly bad for society sounds good to me, but I never promote hate or racism to my knowledge, and when I insult someone, I apologize once I calm down.

I felt it was okay to mention Mussolini on this thread because he was mentioned and the thread is about concerns with who is damaging the forum.

I know I have been accused of it, but I think people totally misunderstood what I was saying or what my ideas are.

When I can help people out I usually do. My best friend is black and I gave him 179$ recently and hundreds when his brother was murdered.

I'm not a hateful bigoted person. I have my outbursts of rage and mental illness but that isn't the same as hate or intent to troll.

Once we start perma banning people there will be a purge of the undesirables who get flagged and there will be adult children who keep flagging posts to get people banned like at other sites.

I think the marvelous thing that makes this forum better than any, is it's the only forum on the web that isn't mob rule that I've been to, or herd mentality.

Staff at this forum will bend over backwards for someone that no one likes (compared to other forums it seems).

If that changes, who knows what some people will be doing without a place to vent.

My previous least favorite person here that I thought was terrible, hateful, worthless, turned out to have a whole different side that taught me a lesson I wouldn't trade for the world. Wasn't a bad person at all.

Multiple important things came forth from things this poster said and some of it really bothered me too, but I'm fortunate staff did not ban him.

I'd be sad to see that start happening. If a person is clearly , obviously, trying to willfully ruin the forum, without any sign of repentance or attempts to change, that is a different story.
