This is way higher than the previous record of 115. This thread can be a record of how "most ever" changes, or stays the same, over time.

I wonder what causes the bots to occasionally swarm like that. Last time, when it was 115, it was actually up around that number for a few days in a row before suddenly dropping back to normal.

How do you know it was all or mostly bots that accounted for the surge?

You can get a pretty good idea by looking at back end "who's online" information, although I didn't do that this time. That's just typically what causes such a surge, and is generally a more logical guess than 150 random people suddenly finding us all at once.

there is also others that collect email links and search for other things like passwords etc...

believe it or not most traffic is generated by picture threads....mostly meme threads

i bet 75 % of guests are here because theyre doing image searches

In this infinite internet abyss it's probably those complex intricate computer techy code things causing the number stats to intuitively bounce & move around depending on content of whatever is being said in all the TF posts & commenting activity attracting lots of bots to the site.

But it never worked the way I wanted. Made it seem like I was saying the same shit every night. Even with a rotating timer acting as a randomizer it would eventually slide into a predictable pattern. It made me look both stoned and senile. Nobody ever noticed it. Probably says a lot about how dull I am!

Today it is easy to have bots do all kinds of interactive shit. So once again I'm looking into it. For a site like this, where we have so many odd subjects and perspectives, I think we can support a minimum of 200 unique bots and have them emulate individual users complete with profile information and an array of response vectors. Of course it could be done with a thousand bots, but conversations would become like the patterns of Starlings in the air.
