  • Marijuana Growing

So I am upping my game a little at the request of a friend. He's buying 5 seeds from somewhere, he's growing one and I'm growing 4 plants. We are going to try and cycle a yearly thing so I might end up with a hydro station in my garage.

But in summer (too late now) we are going to grow in my vege patch, the strain he's looking at is feminized sour diesal. Apparently can grow 3m tall that's like twice me lol.

Yeah my last 4 plants like the size of my elbow to shoulder, I'm a bit umm scared of something 3m. Plus, it sounds like a hard time cutting. But.. Free weed. So can't complain.

                ah, i see.
just shorter ones. maybe something we could check out in future.. the other reason for autos was the reduced height
for in the tunnel. they end up touching the plastic and having to be tied all over the place to prevent this

if a plant isn't flowering yet don't be afraid to trim here and there.....specially the bottom few branches close to the ground.....I don't have tunnel experience....just poutdoors

I will explain shorties….I have 40ish 1 and 2 week old now that are my personal......they will all finish in time....they wont have time to get huge, hence ''shorties''.....i may have some bigger ones from the early grow that i started foir other growers left over.....i still have not seen a sexed plant in the 120 i started months ago

every one get a 60x loup or magnifying glass and watch the tricomes , to see when to chop them down

I should elaborate … When the trichomes are clear, there is very little THC present. As they turn cloudy, this indicates the presence of active THC. When they are amber, the THC is beginning to degrade.

Light degrades THC , so cutting them in the dark will preserve THC in the trichomes. like cutting them just before the sun comes up.
keeping your buds in the dark while drying/curing will also preserve THC.

amazing what you can see with magnification

....i cut the plants at 2pm in peak sunshine.....that is when the trichomes are at their plumpest and gooey....in most out door grows there is way too much dew before sun up to cut the plants as they are wet

depending on the buzz you want cutting plants with clear trich's is fine as long as the flower is mature.....clear means more of a heady uplifting high and cloudy is usually more couch lock

has anyone tried using drought stress to increase tricomes? withholding water till the leaves start to flag ?. best to use this technique in the final two or three weeks of flower I think

those pics above do not tell the whole story....a plant will not have the same color and maturity over the entire plant.....you wait until you see the first signs of amber and then you cut...otherwise there is too many immature trichromes....

with a 6 foot plant you will not see a time where all the crystal is the same maturity ...this is why you average......lots of growers cut early when crystal is still clear....depends what effect you want

yes...water starving at the end of the cycle is a traditional method and is also used to cut down on moisture and keep mold away (outdoor)
