  • Trying to check into treatment voluntarily.

I was almost in a place not long ago that cancelled at the last minute.

I decided I wasn't going to voluntarily be ambitious and check into treatment again, and just wait for professionals to commit me, because I find 99% of addicts to be very unedifying and the groups not very helpful.

But sobriety needs to be something placed above other goals at this point, so I'm ready to take initiative. It is clear my attempts at moderating drug use have become unsuccessful, meaning too many exceptions where I say I'll just use when waking up in the morning.

    Doesn't work that way.

I found somewhere that can take care of my pets.

I will not grow up with regular use of the most powerful and addictive stimulant there is.

    God and Kami bless you!

To grow and get ahead takes discipline and effort at doing what we don't want to do.

Anyone who wakes up for work or school in the early am hours , knows that it isn't usually enjoyable, and involves sacrifice.

Drug abuse comes down to wanting it to come easy, the need to avoid suffering, a love for pleasure and fun. It is hedonism, and shallowminded immaturity, is what it is.

Saint Dominic used to tell people to pray for the grace to love suffering. That would be a great grace to receive.

Using drugs regularly causes a person to stop growing in maturity.

Everyone needs to examine their conscience daily for habits or vices they wish to eliminate from their life. For many, including myself, I question whether it has much likelihood of success.

Just make sure they don’t force you to get the vaccine before you go in or while you’re in treatment

Don't listen to him, he's crazy.

I hope the best for you Matt. I hope you're serious about going to treatment and can find the help you need. Addiction is like the predator that never sleeps. Keep us informed as to how you're doing.

Thank you. And well said. And I hope you stay clear of that predator as well.

I do think that computer access won't be available or cell phones but you will all know when I get out.
