  • Itchy Scalp

Drives me nuts! I shaved my head bald and have been going at my scalp with a wire brush that I originally bought for Carl and Lenny The Cats. I think a fine grit sandpaper is next. The only itch worse than this is from chiggers. And I use a cigarette lighter on those.

Did it only start itching after you shaved your head, or did you shave so you could scratch it with a wire brush?

I shaved my head so I could more easily access my scalp. Actually, the more hair I have the worse it itches. Going over my bald head with a razor helps immensely. This usually isn't that much of a problem during the summer; winter is worse. I have dry skin and kinda dry, brittle hair also. Dandruff doesn't seem to be a problem, however.

Had The Very Same Problem For Years......Tried Every Brand Of Shampoo And Conditioner Known To Mankind......

Finally After Growing "Dreads" I Read On A Dreadlock Site That The Way To Go Was....."Bi-Carb"....."Bicarbonate

Of Soda".......For Years I Mixed A Tablespoon In One Liter Of Water......Left It On Whilst I Washed Other Bits......

Then Of Course Rinsed Off......Never Had A Problem Since And A Box Costs $3.50.....Lasts For 6 Months......

If That Doesn't Work You May Have To Consider Investing In A New Head......

          Cheers Glen.

I wonder if I don't shed enough skin on my scalp. Going over my head with a razor, dead skin cells (at least, I assume that's what it is) build up under the blade. Afterwards my scalp feels heavenly and I don't have the itch problem for a while. My hair is damned thick too.

Thick Hair Will Most Certainly Not Be The Cause Your Problem.......But "Thick Between The Ears" Will.......

Try ketoconazole shampoo. You can get it at most grocery stores and places like target and walmart. Every once in a while my scalp will itch to and if I use that stuff it works almost immediately.

Sounds like you might need to get your scalp checked by your doctor

I use Head and Shoulders shampoo and conditioner.
It helps as i get eczema on my scalp and just about everywhere else.
I can't put any product on my face, head or any part of my body.
