  • How important is it to have fun, pleasure, or be responsible?

I used to be of the attitude that fun and pleasure as a general rule weakens you, and embracing that Spartan, Samurai, pennitent, austere lifestyle is going to make you more strong.

The more suffering you encounter, the higher your tolerance to suffering is. This in the end can lead to less suffering, and enabled Spartans and Samurai to be better warriors by being somewhat indifferent to pain and suffering.

There were monks in Japan that would mummify themselves while still alive, through a diet that burned up all fat , muscle, and eventually moisture. Then they would be buried alive connected to a rope to ring a bell and let people know when they are dead.

I admire such self-control, but it simply is not healthy.

I think pleasure can weaken us and be addictive, along with having fun, but without it frequently, we can also become very bitter miserable people, and unpleasant to be around.

Most people don't want to live a Spartan lifestyle, so it can alienate the pennitent from others as well as make him judgemental of those who don't live lives of extreme self-discipline.

What are your thoughts on how important "having fun, " or "pleasure" is?

How important is being responsible? Sounds like a stupid question, but some responsible people are very judgemental, bitter, stressed, angry, and would be less so if they were less responsible.

I lived a year and a half sober, working, and being responsible. There are some pitfalls you can fall into that lead to much misery when you try super hard to be responsible.

Being less responsible can lead to a more happy mental state at times.

    So can being less compassionate.

I simply don't know though. Your thoughts?

My Dad is very responsible to the point he is very cynical and sometimes it makes him a total asshole.

If he was a bit less responsible, he would not judge so harshly those who have certain vices or maturity problems.

How responsible he is also leaves him very pessimistic and negative ironically, because people are simply dysfunctional , disappointing , and disordered , the vast majority of the time (it seems).

I embrace the Alpha/Leo austere lifestyle to make me more strong.

Ive reached my most paramount point of suffering watching my wife Misty slowly die at a cellular level and ultimately her death from cancer. I choose to willingly suffer no more in my life. My tolerance level to suffering forever yields no boundaries. I convert suffering into positive lessons and completely change the overall outlook

Those mummy monks sound just as ridiculous as those dudes with robes that set themselves on fire. They accomplish nothing and prove nothing with such a display of offing themselves

Pleasure can weaken someone in the wrong frame of mind (Mass murder, Pedos, Gambling , Sex, Drugs). Pleasure can strengthen someone in all positive directions with the correct frame of mind and its okay for it to be addictive.

I want to live an Alpha/Leo lifestyle the minute I wake, till the moment I fall asleep.
I'm currently looking into Alpha/Leo sleep as well, "so I got that going for me now......which is nice....?"

All of as humans have or display an excessively critical point of view being judgmental. It's in our DNA.

The importance of being responsible goes without saying. It's the right thing to do.
It's okay to be a tad lazy, just as long as responsibilities are fulfilled timely.

              Here's a link that I found interesting.

Having judgment is important, but, like most things, you can go overboard. Here's how to tell when you're crossing from an astute critic to a Debbie Downer.

I'm guilty of a few of these myself.

My biggest one is, shaking my head at men that I don't know personally for being Beta's.

I watch/listen to/debate, men that have a Beta like mentality.

I've been judged for not believing in God.
I've been judged for my political views
I've been judged for my illegal drug use

I've been judged for not getting vaccinated (no one from Treefort)

I've heard women being judged at a bar/gym/music venue for being beautiful

Jealousy towards a person one doesn't know can be judgmental

This post probably could've been a thread...
