  • Anyone Have a Cure For Gout?

Luckily I don't suffer from gout but a loved one does. Any remedies that work ... please!

i don't actually even know exactly what gout is. but this will cure most any ailment, for about 12 hours anyway.

Legit I think reducing alcohol intake and losing weight are number one treatments.

Seeing an acupuncturist (particularly one who can prescribe patent medicines), or a traditional Chinese herbalist can help.

A search for community style acupuncture in your area may turn up some results.

Avoiding alcohol, coffee, sugar, sweets, and chocolate in particular may be helpful.

I've read a list of what foods and drinks to avoid to prevent a flare up of gout and its one and a half A4 pages long. From meat, seafood, beer, whisky, soda, asparagus, spinach, cauliflower, peas, beans, other legumes, mushrooms, oats, oatmeal, cirtus fruits, tea, coffee, etc etc etc.

Not much left a person who suffers from gout can eat.

I did a search for the opposite, what should people with gout eat.. and it's basically everything listed in a healthy vegetarian diet. Fruits, vegetables, wholegrains, legumes, nuts..
So yeah, there's plenty they can eat. Pretty much any meal I cook.

Uh so wait, your post isn't accurate according to what I'm reading. Legumes and spinach etc.. that's on the good list. Where did your list come from?

                  ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

True, but at least you won't suffer from gout any longer, starvation, yes, gout no. ..lol..

                  Just kidding

The best way to treat gout is to quit alcohol, red meat, sugary drinks, and drink a lot of water.

Cut off the offending toe ... I suggested that and even offered to do it. She refused my offer.

From the Chinese medicine perspective, there's more than one root cause of gout, though what is called "damp heat in the lower burner" is the primary cause. If that's so, then there should also be symptoms like scanty and yellow urine, lower back pain, weakness of the lower extremities, and red and swollen feet.

If that's the case, then the cauliflower, peas, beans, and other legumes shouldn't be a problem. Rice, carrots, broccoli, potatoes, corn are also ok, with rice being especially beneficial.

Seeing an herbalist/acupuncturist would be ideal though.
