    Tweaking that smile

Turning 50 this year so I decided to use some of my ortho insurance to my benefit.

My smile needed a upper jaw Lateral Incisor adjustment.

I went with the generic dental office brand of
Invisalign®. I get 5 trays to wear til the end of August. I'm almost done with tray 2.

The way the orthodontist goes about making the trays is fascinating. My mouth was mapped out with a 3D wand or brush that did the whole job in less that 5min. No more impressions with that flavored hardening paste I guess. The cost was miniscule. The smile will be priceless.

    How important is your smile?

People say i should definitely smile more. It does look good on me.

Haven't been to the dentist in a very long time but luckily i still have good teeth.

I'm vain :-) I would get Invisalign if I could afford it, but I don't hate my teeth. I don't think about it when I smile, or feel insecure about smiling. But when I think about it I'd prefer that top front one in line with the rest.

Crooked teeth can be so cute on a girl. I prefer a more natural look. On boys and girls. It's personality and heritage. My mom tried to get me braces, but I refused. Its fake, except for extreme conditions.

Is there a less expensive copy cat/similar option available to you other than Invisalign®?

Does your insurance cover a portion of the costs?

We don't really have this thing about health insurance here, probably because we have the NHS. I don't think I know anyone who has health insurance, and neither do I.

There's a company called SmileLife i looked at but i think they're about the same cost as Invisalign. It's not prohibitively expensive.. but with priorities about the field and travel in the winter, I couldn't really justify it even if it were £1000. It's more like £3000. Not out of the question, at some point.

My bottom teeth are crooked cause I didnt want that little metal thing they put at the bottom to keep them straight... Maybe in the future I will look into straightening them but for the most part, even though I'm missing three teeth (just straight up never grew them) I get compliments on my smile

Did you know that dental health was so bad for so long that the word "smile" didn't exist until kind of recently in history?? Pretty crazy
