He was alleged to have killed himself in 1945 but nobody knows for sure if he did. Anyway whether he did or not cuts no ice now because he was born in 1889 so he must be long dead by now.

Which makes me wonder why there are so many movies and television documentaries made about the Fuhrer aka the leader. Even 76 years after his death the world seems so infatuated by him. Is there a reason for this kinda love hate relationship with him?

It obviously has to do with his regime and the impact it had on the western world. I don't see the whole world infatuated with him. Mostly the western world. Which is understandable. He's like the ultimate historic example of evil in our recent history. Sure, there have been people, even leaders, who were also really dubious and committed genocide etc, but the impact he had is quite something. So he still stands out in that regard.

I think the infatuation with him is that he was one of the first mass murdering dictators committed to film and maybe global media.

Agreed, not only the dictator with the biggest impact on the western world in the last century, but in combination with the upcoming visual media.
