      The process is impressive. I grew up around the corner from a gunsmith in Maine so I really appreciate the art and craft that goes into it.

          I watched a fantastic BBC documentary on the history of the guitar. I have a cousin who is now at Johns Hopkins Medical School who built a violin as a part of the gifted and talented program and have an uncle who builds electric basses as a hobby. My dad logs with horses and another uncle runs a sawmill. One of my dreams is to have an instrument that my father cut the trees, one uncle sawed the wood, and the other built the bass.

          In watching the first video Brasilian Rosewood is extinct. The luthiers that have it usually keep it in a vault.
