  • What's Your First Childhood Memory?

Now don't bullschtein us. I mean your personal memory and not what you been told later by a family member. And how old were you at the time?

I just sort of answered this in the 80s thread. I have a very vague memory of pulling up to the house that my parents still live in for the first time. It was super ugly, thank God they dumped the green paint job.

best i can come up with is watching older siblings go to school while i stayed home so that would make me 2 to 4 years old

Yeah, I was around 3 when I took a serious tumble down a long flight of metal stairs. I still can remember the odd sensation of falling, and the pool of blood all over the spot where I landed (this was outside). Then there was just blackness. I ended up getting 24 stitches.... head injury. The doctor told my mom it was a miracle I survived. Somebody up there must like me big time... haha.

Laying in my pram in one of the gardens, probably the main back garden, looking up at a blue sky and listening to the local birdsongs. I must have been only about 10 months old.

I was in the backseat of a car and opened my eyes and saw what I vaguely remember as like a cattle car out the window.

But to be honest, where do memories begin and end. I couldn't classify "This was at one; this was at two; etc." But I know that's a really early one.

And I live in Iowa, so there is a lot of grim industrial stuff.

I can only guess I was around that age because I couldn’t walk yet (didn't walk until just before my first birthday apparently) and was strapped in a pram in the garden, noticing stuff around me.

I have no knowledge of such benchmarks...don't even know what my first words were.

I have a memory that precedes all my oldest memories. Red and pink colors are all I see in front of me. It was very dark. And it felt like I was submerged in warm liquid.

Believe what you will, but I strongly believe this was before I was born, and in fetal development.

My sister is 11 years older than me, always been a jealous ball of rage because of me, she still wet the bed into her teens, she went a few days without doing it and was getting praise like she was 2 years old, so she got up and went to the bathroom and I snuck over and pissed on her bed, sat back and watched the fire works lol, thinking of some of the nasty crap she pulled later on in our lives I should have done a massive poop on her sheets as well.

I remember when i was about 22 months old in a place called Nagambie which is in north gippsland, and i had my first interaction with a gorgeous siamese kitty, who was gentle. He had a loud motor on him which you could hear his purring from the next room.

I can also recall wandering the trailer court in the rain when I was four or five. There'd been some confusion with my babysitter and no one was home, so I wandered around until this elderly couple took me in.

Now that I think about it, this seems like a way to mine password data.
