I toured a carpet manufacturing plant in Dalton, Georgia about 14 or 15 years ago (wow, that makes me feel old). The place was insanely large and it wasn't even their biggest facility in town.

our place is quite big ( not the biggest By any means ) Biggest carpet factory I have ever been in is " Oriental Weavers " In tenth of Ramadan Cairo Its Massive !!
Watch this to get the scale of the place !

They offered me a job there But Egypt ( and tenth of Ramadan is a dry city ! )

The knives I installed today are a bit special they have tungsten inserts to give them a longer running life , they will give me at least x50 times longer between regrind
they are £8 each though and I need 1200 on this machine , the other downside is they have to go to the mfg in Germany to be sharpened

Also one of the cmc machines has been playing up ( the reason I had to work Monday) looked underneath and the hooks were a bit late turns out the holes 1/2 unc were stripped in the cam lever so I bodged it and ordered a new one from the mfg , they said one had to be made so it will take 2 days which is fantastic service as when I order parts from Germany its usually twelve weeks if not in stock

                  This bit

I thought about that , Or helicoil But the lever is aluminum and we have had limited success with those kind of repairs (fine in steel or cast ) new lever is only $ 280 and they carry a hell of a lot of weight , 6 on the drawing is actually a cam and it revolves at around 1800 Rpm

Problem is they are obsolete rang the MFG "sorry cant help you " so I rang round every supplier and contact I know ! no joy so I decided to modify sleeve and rebore a similar but different ratio box (which would have meant modifying the PIV Gearbox settings
Then I got a phone call from a guy I contacted earlier He had 2 S/H ones in his factory if I wanted to drive over Never even asked the price till I had it in my Boot ( it was £400 ) my boss said "How Much !" I told him "Fuck off " Saved the day
