    Is reincarnation real?

*disclaimer, wrote this in a bit of a feverish haze in the middle of the night ?

I've recently became fascinated with a woman named Teal Swan. I am mostly fascinated by her because at best she's a really intelligent and intuitive new age spiritual guru who has been through some shit and has a lot of wise things to say but also profits, like a LOT, off very vulnerable people looking for spiritual guidance (not much different than your friendly neighborhood megachurch pastor though, to keep it real. And those people at least have cultural acceptance going for them). And at worst she's a fucking fraud and a sociopath who has made up really big lies about her abusive past (she claims she was raised in a satanic cult and witnessed human sacrifices, could be true?) to gain notoriety in order to become a bit of a cult leader herself.. but either way, she does seem to understand the intersection of mental health and spirituality on an intuitive level and has helped a lot of people overcome depression and find their higher selves and stuff. Possibly by manipulation, because she's possibly a sociopath. But whatever.

    So, utterly fascinating creature.

The thing that made me think, oh shit this lady is a bit woo woo, is she claims to be an alien from the star Arcturus and she also claims to be the reincarnation of Indian guru Sai Baba of Shirdi. Which I think just sounds straight up like her ego talking, imo. Like no one is ever just a peasant in a previous life, right? Gotta be a king or a guru or a star or some shit.

But I was thinking about reincarnation the other day, and it made me think of Teal Swan and made me wonder...oh shit, what if she really is the Indian guru Saint Baba of Shirdi?!

I was reading this article about children who have vividly described their previous lives, and it made me think about how when my son was 3 (I hope you're still with me because this is my favorite part ?) he would tell his dad and me these really descriptive stories about how when he was with his old family (his words) he lived on Long Island. He described some hill they would go to and from that hill they could see New York City.

I know, logical explanation. Teal Swan's satanic cult family talked to her as a young kid about Saint Baba of Shirdi and she internalized it and made herself believe what she imagined was actually her real memories of a past life (or she's a lying fraud, that bitch!) and at some point we talked to my kid about New York and Long Island for some reason, or he absorbed it from TV or whatever, and confused his thoughts with past life memories. I get it, there's always a logical explanation.

But you guys think...maaayyybe? Maybe reincarnation is actually a thing? We're just writing off all these people as having imaginative thoughts imprinted as memories, or we're writing them off as crazy...but what if there is actually something to it.

Yay or nay? Would the soul even have the capacity to retain memories from life to life?

Lost am I in this world of timelessness and woe
Can I find the doorways through which I must go?
Is the key to this plane too much for me to
    Try to gain?
Is the passport to this world my astral soul?

Maybe indeed. I recall doubling into many reincarnation threads on HF, I think also with you? :P My conclusion remains the same as in the deity realm: I'm open to the possibility but can not even conclude with conviction it is the most likely option. It would suit me though (hence why such a conclusion would feel false because it is based on wishful thinking, not actual thought out reason or sincere belief).

        Definitely agnostic on it.

The thing about people always having been kings or great warriors etc. and some people using that as a criticism: well, if reincarnation IS real, and we've lived hundreds of lives, most of them really normal.. well why WOULDN'T we recall the significant exciting one? So I never see that as any kind of proof against.

That's a really cool little story about your son!

They do fascinate me, stories like that.

fair enough : D I suppose being the Indian guru Saint Baba of Shirdi would stand out and make an impact

There's another angle too, and I think i'm probably leaning less agnostic on this and it's just more what I believe - that we are all fragmented parts of a greater consciousness. There is no real "self." So when someone remembers a past life, there's no "I" involved. "I" wasn't this person before, we were ALL this person before, we are all part of every living being in nature that has lived and will ever live because we are all part of the same universal consciousness.

I'm merely considering the option But, even if we were, it doesn't necessarily mean we are connected to eachother imo

Whilst I do believe we are all fragments of a whole, I also believe each fragment is an “I”. With my past life memories, there is a distinct feeling of an “I” in there, even though in one of them I’m thinking in a different language. Also, when NDAs happen, from what I understand of them, there is a distinct sense of “I”.

I'm going to write a song one day about the Indian guru Saint Baba of Shirdi, for no other reason than its fun and amusing to say.

Here's a video from Teal Swan, if anyone is curious about her. She touches on several themes we have discussed just today across multiple threads in this video! The purpose of life, the idea that we are expressions of the universe and fragmented parts of a whole.

She really is a great thinker. If she does happen to be a sociopath, eh. She's not a harmful one.

Yes, thank you, I was curious about her! But almost certainly would have forgotten to check her out. I'll leave this tab open so that I watch it next time a watching moment occurs.

I like her. I don't get the same impression as boubindica or Andy. I liked hearing that video. The last five minutes re-energised me! Commit to the adventure!

Jessica yeah I think she has really interesting things to say when she's talking practical advice on living one's life

The one thing that really made me wonder if she's as together as she presents herself is this interview I watched with her and her romantic partner. It struck me as a toxic relationship and she struck me as a very controlling partner lol. But I've found that's true with a lot of new age gurus, their personal lives don't always reflect what they teach

I just watched a cult show documentary that had went into pretty good depth of Heaven's Gate.

It's interesting that topics on TF and things you say Andy have a way of traveling back to something to that'll be seen by me in the future.

Some kind of rhythmic clairvoyant coincidence I'm dealing with you in certain things.

          Fascinating actually 🤔

Reincarnation is real. I was Jesus Christ in a previous life. It all came back to me last week. I saw a homeless man, and i just happened to have bread. So i came upon thee, and said to him, "Amen i say to you. Take this bread and eadth this, for this is my body which shall be given up to the everlasting." It happened automatically. Then i saw him just yesterday driving an expensive car. He thanked me as he drove by.

I believe strongly that reincarnation is a real thing. I have a few memories of my own. Only snippets of lives lived in other times. Two of them that come to mind are associated with my death and the other one I’m pretty sure I am walking alongside a coffin being carried in a horse drawn cart. The memories are visually and audibly vivid but there is no smell. My mother also told e that when I was little I used to call my dolls David, despite the fact they were clearly female dolls. When she questioned me about it, I told her my son was called David and when she questioned me further, I told her it was “before you lot, when I was big”.

When you think about it, everything else is cyclic, so why not human consciousness?

Regarding Teal Swan. Whilst I’m convinced satanic abuse of children does happen, and she may well be telling the truth about that (although it might not have personally happened to her), some of the things she said about life doesn’t ring true for me. For example, she said something about life and consciousness goes with thinking. Plants, trees and let’s say Ants. They don’t “think” in the conventional sense, yet they have life and a consciousness of sorts. I may be misunderstanding what Teal Swan said but if she is a reincarnation of those people she mentioned and the alien, I don’t think she would not have communicated it so badly. It wasn’t just that. There were other things she said that just seemed a bit off. There is something about her that doesn’t ring true IMO. Ofcourse this is only my opinion, coming mainly from an intuitive perspective. I also happen to believe there are Otherworld beings out there and Otherworld beings in the spiritual sense too, so I’m not dismissing her entirely. I just think she might possibly be misguided. But then I could also be misguided, even though I don’t believe that to be the case. Or she could be a complete charlatan. Hard to tell.

I got about three seconds in and knew it was brainwash.

Awareness and involuntary communication go hand-in-hand, but thinking is just another form of qualia.

no kool-aid here lol, I'm not a huge fan of any person who claims to be a spiritual teacher and is also a millionaire. And half of what she says sounds a lil ridiculous to me. Doesn't mean that a rich, ridiculous person can't have insightful things to say the other half of the time. Just gotta take these people with a healthy grain of salt

I guess it's a gift, though, knowing how to draw people in...can be kinda a sick gift.

I do have kinda weird feelings towards certain visuals not of this lifetime that seem strangely personal to me. Obviously reincarnation isn't well understood, though. And I wouldn't at all be surprised if aliens walk among us.

But this has all been widely discussed in philosophical circles for ages upon ages. These people who utilize it as a cash cow...and people who follow other people instead of putting their trust in the Great Spirit...irk me.

When you've placed your faith in the lawd first, and have your third eye open, it's annoying to see people wax philosophical in high fashion with best-selling books.

The genuine article is inevitable, and there will be no contest. That which was once a mere idea shall become science whence comes the ubermensch uberwomensch. Unless it is in fact, too deadly.

Cause like, Heaven on Earth's great and all, but typically you've got to die to get there, so. It's not all "manifest beauty, smell the roses." People will die at the hands of Truth.
