Yesterday at my mom's 70th birthday party had an interesting turn of events.
I was joking with some birthday party guests about Ash Wednesday. I said I was going to show up to work on Thursday with some ash on my forehead to spark some fun conversations.
My mom overheard this fun poking and said openly to everyone in ear shot that "It's my (her) biggest regret in life that I didn't send you(me) to a catholic school"
I said "really"
she said "yes, really " her eyes teared up a bit.
I didn't feel bad because I knew she already had too much to drink.
She was over it and back to laughing 10 min later.
I was sober and I'm still surprised that it is one of her biggest regrets in life not to send me to a catholic school.
At first I though, she was going to say her biggest regret in life was beating me as a child..
That'll never happen....lol
