    The Ten Commandments

I watched it last night while working in the garage.

Moses was a Bully for God.

Ramses didn't believe or fear in Moses's God, and punishment was inflicted upon for not letting his people go.

    Blood in the water
    Hail
    creeping death
    Killing first borns

    The controlling effect of religion......

mother moon -she's calling me back to her silver womb,
father of creation -takes me from my stolen tomb
seventh-advent unicorn is waiting in the skies,
a symptom of the universe, a love that never dies!

The beginning of the vid reminded me of Indiana jones and the temple of doom "we are going to die" scene

    I agree with you Pete.

Moses was very intolerant, strict, and a bully.

    It is very sad.

I wish God was more like you. I'm serious.

I'll tell him to observe and learn from your example.

It is actually Biblical that we can get God to lighten up and change his mind. There is a Scripture where God is going to destroy Israel, and Moses prays, tells God it is a essentially a stupid , terrible idea, and Scripture says "God repented of the evil he planned on doing to Israel"!

The biblical "god" was mostly a killer according to the so called old testament.
"The embers of our past lives lie smouldering within us awaiting the winds of remembrance to fan them in flames of reality." Dax.

The effects of a volcano close to the Nile by the headwaters would explain every one of the "plagues", even the river turning red. With 5000 years to work on the story its no wonder it seems so fantastic. Or was Moses simply a masterful opportunist who knew what to do with the news of a volcano? If he had earlier knowledge than pharaoh's staff, he could have pulled a con that made him look like a soothsayer.

Moses' people lived in captivity under the rule of a reckless alpha male, so I can imagine why you'd feel that way.

When I was about 9 years old I saw the movie Wholly Moses! (1980). It starred Dudley Moore as Moses' brother.

I actually prefer the Wholly Moses! understanding of the religious aspects instead of the harsh interpretation of the 10 commandments.

Haven't seen that movie in some time but remember really enjoying the movie. Amazing story, graphics, and scenery for its time. Long movie though.

Step back and see a movie from a more elevated perspective and it becomes judged based on entertainment value. Mosses can be as much of a bully as he wants. Just as long as he is an entertaining one.
