Fighting God is always pointless whatever It may be. Concluding with certainty God is cruel is where you already go wrong. But if you wnna insist on that, I don't give a shit. It's your life. And in the end... your subjective personal version of God as well. You are entitled to your personal beliefs. Are they working for you though? I don't think you are even fighting God.
How do you know God doesn't torture people for their sins or how do you know all of Scripture is false?

Now, the God I know is not based entirely on Scripture, as I can prove some of Scripture is false, but based on what Scripture says about God, he is extremely cruel and it is more noble to fight him than bend the knee to him.

Moses saved Israel from destruction by fighting with God and telling God his plans were stupid. Scripture says "God repented of the evil he planned on doing to Israel". Jacob fought with God all night and won.

Sometimes God can be extremely cruel. Torturing someone in hell for all eternity is more cruel than anything Adolf Hitler ever did. The world needs more people who contend with God and restrain his wrath or get him to change his mind than people who bend the knee out of fear of punishment or hell.
