  • Does anyone believe in Astrology, Numerology, Tarot & Palmistry?

I thought that this is probably the best place to discuss about the mystic occult arts spiritual faith.
I could not find much discussion here on Tree fort forums about anything of the mystical occult beliefs being discussed.
Does anyone believe in Astrology, numerology, tarot, palmistry, tea readings, coffee cup readings, rune readings and anything else mystical-related?

There seems to be some interest in Astrology on the site. A good place to talk about any ideas, experiences, knowledge or your own personal twist on the subject. Also a good place to discuss other occult subjects, such as Tarot, Astral Projection, Divination, Wicca, etc.

I'm agnostic about most things. I find astrology interesting. What is your sign?

The rest are unfamiliar. What is numerology and palmistry? How does any of this reflect or help you?

Hi Tropical Breeze & Beach Ball Bitch hope all's well and thanks for your recent questions & feedback.
There are many types of Astrology ~ there is Western Astrology where people talk about the influences of their Sun & Moon signs & how that accounts for their personal characteristics etc. The Chinese have their own unique Chinese Astrology.

I am of Sri Lankan 'Sinhalese' heritage so I've grown up with South East Asian 'Vedic' astrology (based on the approximate time of your birth, date & location of your birth in this world) & Buddhist previous lives karmic influences ~ where a talented astrologer can predict your personality, the career you are most likely to do and the approximate time duration that you will survive in your current life.
My Grandfather was a talented famous writer in Sri Lanka & he also had the psychic gift of being able to write people's personal Astrology ~ before he died he has written my dad's, mum's, my bro's & my astrology.
With Western general Astrology with regards to my mum (born in Sept), bro(born end of Aug) & me(Sept) we'd all be considered as Virgos & my dad born in Nov(Scorpio).

Vedic Astrology is based on approx time of birth, date & location ~ so according to my Grandfather's astrological predictions my bro is 'Gemini', my mum is 'Leo', my dad is 'Libra' & I'm 'Pisces.'
In my Grandfather's astrological writings he has predicted managed to accurately predict the career of my mum was a Nurse (retired now in her mid 70s) my bro is a Science researcher & business professional (now in his mid 40s) my dad was an Accountant for his entire career (retired & is now in his late 70s).

And with regards to my life my Grandfather has predicted I will be artistic creative, you can have a career in any communications business handling large amounts of money because people will be able to put their trust in you to manage their finances & responsibilites and also you can be a teacher and in jobs working in the community helping others.
At the end of my 20s after doing unpaid Admin work in London to gain work experience whilst applying for jobs to try to find work in the Media industry I thankfully managed to get a 6months paid internship at the iconic Vogue house for 'Condé Nast Publishers' in Oxford Circus central London that internship was like a golden ticket to work for many other famous publishers (Time Inc ~ 1yr, Microsoft ~ 1yr, GroupM ~ 5months, the Telegraph ~ 1month) & lesser known medium-sized & start-up media marketing companies for around 6years all over London.
So working in the Media marketing industry accounts for my Grandfather's predictions about me working for communications businesses because I was part of many Digital communications services teams 'Advertising Operations & Campaign management' where you are responsible for highly lucrative media campaigns setting up digital ads all the annoying lol but highly paying digital square & rectangular ads on publisher's websites.

My personal Astrological horoscope was the last horoscope my Grandfather wrote when I was born in 1982 before his death and it gives me plenty of hope every day for a hopeful future especially since loosing my most recent job many months ago back in March 2020 and the entire world having to suffer & endure this horrible pandemic crisis.

My Gradfather has predicted in my horoscope some spookily accurate predictions for example when I lost my recent job back in March 2020 ~ 2020 was my 37th & then in Sept I was 38 ~ so my Grandfather has said for 2020 - mid 2021 (my 37th & 38th years) ~ he has written the guidance for me "Do not go on any long trips" I remember reading that when I was 12 and thinking what is going to happen in my 37th, 38th years that I've been warned not to go travelling ~ well now I know because of the horrible pandemic world crisis has happened where we have all been restricted with the all the lockdown restrictions to stay at home don't go travelling anywhere unless it is necessary like for essential food shopping or having to go see the doctor for medical health reasons etc.

With astrology I like how it gives me hope, based on my Grandfather's astrological predictions, knowing that he has said end of my 30s - early 40s I will be experiencing based on karmic influences there will be lots of planetary movement so lots of ups & downs (struggles) ~ but after my 43rd year the planets will become more stable and for 7years my Grandfather has said he does not need to give me anymore guidance as life in career & persoanl love life will be stable and then for my 50s, 60s & into my 70s till my death life will overall be more stable even if there are stuggles he does not need to give much guidance as overall I will be leading a happy & successful comfortable life.

Unfortunately I did not inherit my Grandfather's gift to write a person's personal astrological horoscope.

However I love how if I meet people on my life journey I love how it's a great conversation starter: ) like in the last job I had in March 2020 working in a civil services dept for my local council ~ I noticed my manager had an astrological tattoo on his arm ~ so I made a comment on that which progressed to a nice astrological discussion.

For alot of my life for many years I've had a keen interest in Numerology, Palmistry & art of tarot readings read & own books on it and these days there is so much information published on the internet and plenty of youtube videos on all the psychic occult studies.
I like that Numerology is simply based on your Day number & your Life path number.
I will write some more information on Numerology in my next article: )

Numerology has helped me understand last year's crazy chaotic stress in regards to the 2020 pandemic world crisis and all the micro-managing strict lockdown restrictions and going fwd with 2021 it helps me to intuitively try to have faith and hope that the world is going to recover & heal accordingly for the best♥

According to Numerology 2020 was a number 4 year.
                    2 + 0 + 2 + 0 = 4

Numerologically 4 represents rules & having to obey ridgid laws & regulations ~ which makes perfect sense for 2020 being a Number 4 year and all of us in all countries around the world we were all literally having to be forced to abide by & be micro-managed by all the lockdown strict rules to have to overall stay at home & then wait until the government tells us when the lockdown rules are being relaxed and again we were having to follow rules about what we can & can't do.
Also if you visualise the number 4 being a square, a box for 2020 because of the lockdown rules we have all been for majority of 2020 having to stay locked down in our homes only to venture out for essential food shopping or doctors etc ~ but literally it has felt for majority of 2020 everyone being told stay at home so it's felt like being boxed in our cosy homes and unable to freely & comfortably not being able to happily freely travel much: (
                    Numerologically 2021 is a number 5 year : )
                    2 + 0 + 2 + 1 = 5

Numerologically it gives me hope that since we are now in a number 5 year there is plenty of hope for us to look fwd to♥

Number 5 symbolises new adventures, new opportunities, new personal & career experiences, meeting new people, new friendships, new relationships, new business connections etc.
So I like to imagine after we've all been locked in our cosy homes most of 2020 I hope that as the world heals from last years pandemic chaotic horrible pandemic as we patiently keep chugging along in 2021 I hope that the world will get better soon & the pandemic hopefully eventually disappears and that all the lockdown restrictions start to improve & chillax so that we will be able to freely leave our homes & happily easily move around outside & be able to travel about in the world : )

                    If your Lifepath number is 5 ~ for example my date of birth is 21 / 09 / 1982 ~ 2 + 1 + 0 + 9 + 1 + 9 + 8 + 2 = 32 = 3 + 2 = 5 life path number

So if your life path number is 5 you can look fwd to hopeful new personal & career opportunites & experiences but be careful & cautious in all the exciting fun new adventures ~ life path 5 folks have to learn to have more balance in life and not over indulge too much especially in all the fun worldly life pleasures

hi Din Djarin thanks for your feedback ~ so I am curious what is it about the occult studies are you interested in ~ are you interested in Astrology (Western, Vedic & Chinese astrology?), Numerology, palmistry, tarot & other occult studies? I've also discovered in the past few years that the Chinese have an ancient occult art of 'face reading' too : )

I simply find it interesting what might be beyond the physical world and what people have conjured up about it during different times in humanity's existence. I am basically interested in how people in other times perceived the world and all stuff in it, and what they thought could possibly lies beyond, and of course why they thought so. How our mind works. I am not looking for a method or belief system to adopt. I don't expect to find certainty in the occult about what might be beyond, mainly interested how it came to be, what it entails and how it impacted humans in general or i guess better said culture. I consider religions an aspect of culture too.

What is most interesting is that some renowned scientists (like Newton) doubled heavily in the occult as well. It isn't always seen as a rigid opposite of science. Although it is of course most constructive and progressive to have seperated the belief in a philosophers stone from actual science, and astrology from astronomy. But not kidding around, I also dig the occult because of the mystery and how it is associated with witchcraft and other hidden wisdom. Same why I dig folklore and mythology so much as well. And it all connects to how the human minds works too

hi Audiogen that is a very good question I know about Sacred Geometry such as the golden rectangle ratio in nature in flowers etc and as a visual arts person I learnt about it in Fine Arts school in my drawing & design classes I remember intuitively when drawing from nature & creating designs I am intuitively composing, drawing framing the picture I create so that it feels visually pleasing nicely aligns with the golden ratio in mind. Once I've done a bit of investigating on a connection / overlap btw Numerology & Sacred Geometry I will let you know what I find out: )

I kind of became addicted to my daily horoscope until the age of 30. I think my fear of "getting older" made me want to invest more time in things I could make happen, and less time caught up in the "He who hesitates..." syndrome. But I think Tarot readings are fun - if nothing else just to see how accurate or inaccurate the reading might be :-)

hi PacificDude I've not heard of "He who hesitates" syndrome. I feel that with Tarot readings if I'm feeling anxious worried about anything in my day I enjoy shuffling the tarot cards I like to channel all my energy into the cards whilst shuffling them & I like it when a card naturally falls out or I'll inuitively feel guided stop shuffling & cut the deck once, twice or just pick out a few cards in a tarot card spread & then when reading the tarot cards they provide me with a nice insight for whatever the questions thoughts I'm having. Even with a regular card deck there is the art of 'Cartomacy' which I enjoy doing readings with. I find it spiritually enlightening & fun: ) Do you own any Tarot cards? I've collected in past few years several different Tarot decks I admire the creative art, design & symbolism in the tarot cards

Hi niftypebble21 I lost many things when I moved from Chicago to the Pacific Northwest.... including my Tarot cards. They were a gift from my deceased sister (she knew how much I admired the art and symbolism). I have to say that The Hanging Man was the card that "spoke" to me the most. I know that it can be a good or bad omen... depending on the cards next to it and if it's upside down or not? Is that how it works? BTW, you have a totally original writing style - a rare find these days :-)

hi PacificDude that is sad:-/ that you lost your Tarot cards especially since they were a present from your sister♥ with regards to reading upside down or not that depends on each tarot readers style of reading the cards and I feel as with life there are good & bad feelings happy, sad, angry, optimistic, confused, anxious, scared, brave, vulnerable, frustrated, sympathetic, loving, kind, disappointed, optimistic etc etc so many emotions & feelings and I feel all the art & symbolism in the cards expresses how we're feeling when you read & interpret the cards. I have neutral feelings about the Hanging man card I see it as a reverse different perspective to look on issue(s) of thoughts I'm having at that moment in time. And thanks: ) for your sweet compliment on my writing style cheers♥
I've had an on-going art project for a while now I've been working on designing creating my own tarot deck: )
