Is it normal to ask someone to smell your Cha Cha before a date??

I've only seen it once so probably not very common, but this Hispanic girl who I kinda had a crush on used to ask "How does my Cha Cha smell" before she would go on a date, and I got to have a wiff.

I wasn't the only person she would ask. She would need a second opinion about her Cha Cha. If I could do it over again I'd say, "Could you let me inspect and taste it just to make extra sure". ???

Have you seen this behavior before?
