    The importance of touch

Skin to skin contact is recommended for a mum and her newborn as it promotes oxytocin forming a bond between mum and baby. Dad too, I took my son for a shirtless cuddle when he was minutes old but mums in particular are advised to do so.
What surprises me is this also works for romantic relationships yet I don't hear it stressed to the same degree. My wife and I sleep naked every night and it's magic. It's often the highlight of my day. We have busy lives, our son is almost 2 now and it's a powerful way of maintaining intimacy when there's little time or willingness to do anything more intentional. When I'm asked for advice by young couples it's always my go to. I think it may be even more crucial for older couples who may not feel as connected or anyone going through a rough patch. Touch each other. A lot. Sleeping naked is a wonderful way to achieve it. Our souls communicate things through touch that words can't express.

I've never been touched, which has made me wretched and untouchable.

This reminds me. I don’t know if it’s a legit study or an urban legend.

But waiters and waitresses get more tips when they pat people on the back and shoulders, and use lite touch.

It’s interesting, but I’m too lazy to fact check it right now.

i'm pretty sure that's true, yeah

wouldn't work on me because i'm weird about touch from people i don't know but for most people it creates positive feelings

I most likely wouldn't tip if someone touched me.
