Derek Chauvin is on Trial for George Floyd's Death.

    Spent some time today watching the opening arguments of this case;

Came to one conclusion; as long as humans have a hole in their ass there will be racism from all sides of society.

So does that mean you think tackling it should be high on the agenda? Or is that a pointless waste of energy since it will always be an intrinsic part of society? Or something in between there?

Maybe if we keep shoving things up our asses, evolution will get the picture that we want it closed.

I'm already sickened by the fact that he's on trial for manslaughter, not murder. That's right, isn't it?
I get it. I know that he'd more likely to be found innocent of murder.
        But it was murder.

It wasn’t murder. Did you see the footage from the cop’s collar camera that was released later? Floyd downed a lethal dose of fentanyl to hide it from the approaching police because he didn’t want a 3rd strike and jail time. He was saying he could not breathe before he was out of the car.

I don’t care if I make enemies from this post. I care about the truth.

What angers me about this, is the family got $27 million when that money could’ve gone to real victims of police brutality who’ve gotten nothing.

So if he was OD'ing, why did Chauvin decide that sitting on his neck for 10 minutes would be the best course of action, versus getting him medical attention?

You would have to ask him that however I believe the coroner's report found it was a Fentanyl overdose. What 6 eyed said is true,I've seen the bodycam footage of Floyd saying he can't breathe multiple times before he was on the ground.

Terrible policing yes but I don't think he killed him.

Nope the coroner didn't attribute it to Fentanyl. It was concluded that the intoxicants in his system, pre-existing conditions, and the stress of sustained pressure by Chauvin all likely contributed to his death

The coroner said specifically that Fentanyl could not be identified as the sole cause of his death

Also an independent autopsy concluded the cause of death was asphyxiation by sustained pressure

And if someone is complaining that they can't breathe and another person goes and sits on their neck rather than getting them medical attention
at the very least, that's manslaughter

Do you have a link to the coroner's report,I would be interested to see it again by the sounds of that.

Don't bother, cardiopulmonary arrest due to restraint combined with heart disease and fentanyl od basically.

So he couldn't breathe before he was restrained but being restrained killed him.
                      Clear as mud.

I can't link because it's a pdf but here's a screenshot of the official press release from the medical examiner. Notice the manner of death was determined to be a homicide. Official cause of death, cardiopulmonary arrest complicating law enforcement subdual, restraint, and neck compression. No mention of an OD

You can also Google George Floyd autopsy and the entire autopsy report should be the first link to come up. I can't link that either because it's also a PDF

And I know the language used in this article will ruffle a few feathers but I think it provides a pretty good analysis of the autopsy, as well as how it has been misinterpreted to suit an agenda

The weaponization of medical language emboldened white supremacy with the authority of the white coat. How will we stop it from happening again?

i don't think money should ever be part of it. i don't see why monetary compensation is ever part of this kind of thing. but that's a separate topic, and i'm sure people could make me reconsider my perspective on that.

if you care about the truth, what is your response to Mel's information? you've both done more research than i have.

i am just going on the fact that i believe Chauvin knew that if he continued what he was doing, the man would die.

Let it be man ... How many years is it since the USA outlawed discrimination? It's nearly 30 years since Apartheid ended in South Africa. Is there no discrimination in these countries today?
