Anyone ever had debt collectors hassling them?

Got a new phone recently and have this company ringing me up chasing cash from some random bloke I’ve never heard of. Keep telling them I am not that person and someone different just calls.

They called me at 2am last night???

Also the accc would probably like to know about them as well.

Had that happen to me last year.
Reported the company who was latitude who looked to their stupid sister company Lion finance who kept ringing me.

I told them all to fuck off and leave me alone.

In the end it was found that it was latitude's problem who fucked around too much by scamming their customers with high interest rates.
Meaning you pay off their bills but allyou are paying is the interest.
It didn't matter how much you paid them back.
They'd double, triple, quadruple everything in interest.
        So they were pointless.

        Change your phone number.

        it helps.

Do this when you get into Ballarat tomorrow.

Go to Optus and ask if you can change your phone number as you are getting nuisance calls from debt collectors

Also looking up their phone numbers on google is a good idea.
That way you can check if they are optus numbers and you can finally block them all.

Optus abuse email address is [email protected]

I've had automated calls from some energy companies that have made me turn off them.
I'm now with powershop for both gas and electricity

        They are good.

But yeah make sure that if you are changing your phone along with your phone number it might be better to port your old number over to the new phone.

Sometimes it's difficult because you may of been getting other people's trash or you may of been stalked by some dickhead who kept calling you.

I've been with optus ever since and have had no more issues with dickheads ringing me.

The worst thing for me was some of those apps such as viber with people ringing me from all over the world.
Told them all to fuck off.
Also i decided to take viber off my phone.
        Not worth it.

Not that applies so much in your case, but if you ever go out to a public venue with free wi-fi on your phone, if you use it, moronic telemarketers from New Delhi will have access to your phone number.
