According to the Qur'an muslims are to kill the infidel unless they convert to Islam. So why then do they continually seek asylum in non muslim countries? Is it really because they are migrants fleeing from their country of birth or is there another more sinister reason?

This is the thing about the bible, it was written in a time that was much different from today. I have several issues w/the book until I had some study groups, several years ago. I'm not a church goer now, I can do without all the piousness and gossip. I worship alone. Anyways...
I found this online, had to look hard for something that explained it like I learned.. it's complicated. Here goes..
Well, the reason why some men or women can become “impure” is because certain things will make then “unclean”. This means that they are not able to approach or enter the sanctuary of the temple of God. In fact only the Levitical priests were permitted into the Holy of Holies. God’s temple is the Ark of the Covenant. And people weren’t even allowed to touch it, except the Levites.
In Leviticus, we also read about how to keep one’s self clean. It speaks about disease and how to engage in what is known in our modern times as universal precautions. The use of running water to wash wounds/infections and the disposal of contaminated clothing are discussed. There is a lot of directions associated with how to deal with people suffering from leprosy as well.
When a woman is on her period, there is a lot of blood involved as the endometrium sloughes off at the end of the menstrual cycle. This blood is not something that one keeps, it should be disposed of. Scripture talks about how a man should not have intimate relations with a women who is experiencing an active menstruation.
This is because its not good hygiene (remember the time period- no running water, soap (?), sanitary disposables...)
Its not saying that the woman has somehow become a horrible person.
Leviticus simply states that during that period of her menstrual cycle, she needs to be more attentive of her physical state. Some women also experience intense cramps and potential mood swings. An OBGYN could likely provide more details.

This is why Meliai tried to derail this thread by talking about her periods.
Most likely the reason you all find it a moral duty to defend islam from all rational criticism, is because you guys associate islam with brown people, and brown people as natural born victims who can't fend for themselves without a government hand out. This is the bigotry of low expectations, and that's fucked.

Oh my bad I thought this thread was about religious devotees who don't take their religious books literally
Also everything I know about Islam I learned from a friend of mine. Who is very much not a fundamentalist. And is very caucasian. So I don't associate Islam with brown people. There are a lot of white people in the middle east actually.
I'm really fascinated by the red hair gene in Pashtun people of Afghanistan. Look at this hair, isn't it gorgeous?
My son had a friend in school whose parents were Afghan immigrants and the friend and his little sister had hair this shade.

Just for the record, I make no distinction between fundamentalists; they're all wrong.
But I noticed something interesting (to me) in Leviticus 20:20-21.
20 “‘If a man has sexual relations with his aunt, he has dishonored his uncle. They will be held responsible; they will die childless.
21 “‘If a man marries his brother’s wife, it is an act of impurity; he has dishonored his brother. They will be childless.
God has made a claim (in italics) that can easily be shown to be false by experiment. I wonder if he thought to himself afterwards, "oh shit, I hope they don't try it to see if I'm telling the truth."
