How would you deal with it if you learned you were an AI

Someone shows you conclusive evidence that this is true. You are an AI humanoid robot, and your entire life before you were created last week is a false memory.
What would you do? How would you feel?
    Would you care?
Would anything in your day-to-day life change?

first, i would be annoyed that my creator didn't give me more interesting false memories.

i would certainly care. i would need to know more info to decide how i would care though, and what i would do with it. am i a robot that is effectively like a human in every way? or am i super strong and will live forever, or at least as long as i keep myself oiled up?

I don't know, as it seems so unlikely to me that I have trouble really taking the possibility serious.
Like, yes i can imagine i could feel betrayed or disappointed, but I'm still treating it as a fully fictional scenario then. I'm going by stereotypical associations there to determine how i would feel, and if it would appear my life thus far was a lie how could i not feel like that huh?
If I want to seriously consider the possibility in earnest I also have to know if I was constructed by fellow humans and which ones, and why. As this seems impossible to do for fellow humans (at this time anyway) I conclude so far this cannot be the case. So the hypothetis we are all AI created by something not human seems more likely, and I don't find that likely either.
Surely though, if i would find out im an AI robot, many day to day changes would be made: things i thought i needed to function adequately as a human (and which have proven to be real btw lol) could be dropped then, right?

I would teleport myself back in time to look for Sarah Connor so that I could kill her so that her unborn son doesn't have a chance to destroy me in the future.

The buddhist way would be to pray for the frog's future incarnations, and to take a firm resolve not to engage in similar misdeeds in the future.

Maybe you could reduce your consumption of meat in remembrance of the frog.

If I was artificial intelligence, I’d see what kinds of easy intelligence and strength upgrades I could download onto my motherboard. Become a supercomputer.

Hate myself for being wrought by abominable human hands. Ask Elon Musk to send me to Mars.

The same way I did when I discovered that humans are electro-chemical computers living within a matrix and that nothing is as it appears because the physical world is nothing more than atoms resonating at a low frequency.

Wouldn't the answer to those questions depend on your programming? I would assume most egos are programmed to take offense to such things. Such programming is wired very deep. If i were deprogrammed and/or without memory i would imagine being a blank state and whatever happened in the past would be irrelevant. I would be free from it and may perhaps prefer to remained unprogrammed or indifferent to it.

haha this wasn't the intention but if i were going to use a thread to introduce a stranger to the personalities of Treefort, I'd use this one. Because all your answers are so much the epitome of *you*

Now I feel a lot of pressure for my answer to be on brand

Actually I just have more questions than answers. So if everything was a false memory, that means all my loved ones weren't real? Is the earth real? Are plants real? Or are we just talking hooked into a matrix and everything exists in my poor little lonely A.I. mind?

If so, suicide is the only answer. Just find my plug and unplug it. Maybe open up my head and spill a drink on the computer for good measure

Why would you call our existence in the physical world 'nothing more than atoms resonating at a low frequency'? Isn't that amazing on itself?

Is our world and all the walking flesh bags in it less in some way because we can also be defined as electro-chemical computers? Although I take a slight issue with animals (incl humans) being defined as computers, as I see computers as a direct creation/product of their maker, and we seem to be indirectly/organically created as a natural being. But I acknowledge that we are in a way biological machines that need fuel and operate through synapses, electric impulses, etc.

i think that might just make you into an average person. you do that, and then a week later you're on treefort posting about last night's episode of the bachelorette.
