    Elon Musk

Love him or hate him, he's worth having a thread about.

It's not his full name. And it's to describe a position like president. The Elon. The highest position of power on Mars. Cool coincidence.
Tech billionaire Elon Musk promised to bring humans to Mars by 2024. But was his mission predicted nearly 70 years ago?

it took me way too long to realize you meant it's not his full name that appears in the book. i was sitting here trying to figure out what his full name was if it wasn't elon musk. elonious muskovich seemed appropriate.

Seems him and Grimes are only semi seperated

Grimes slipped into a slinky ensemble for a new Instagram post days after the father of her baby, billionaire Elon Musk, was named Time's Person of the Year.

One more spoiled daddy's boy flung to the top. Big deal, he likes space. Fundamentally the kid from The Toy with Richard Pryor grown up.

It's not that he likes space that makes him cool.

It's hearing him say things like that it's everyone's responsibility to do things that make the world a better place. A lot of people seem oblivious to that side of him. I allow that he might be wrong in what he's doing, but I believe that he genuinely is driven by the wish to improve society for everyone.

I understand this thought, but poverty is a direct product of the systems the rest of us live in. You can throw endless money at it which will help individuals who are suffering, but unless we fundamentally change the systems, poverty won't be eradicated.

                      lol, yeah, well.. might do
but if the system is still set up to favour the rich, I think over time we'd still slip back to the same point we're at now.

He won't even pay taxes. And when Bernie told him to, he said, "I forgot you were still alive."

Well yeah, I give you that. I do believe taxing the wealthy is a good idea. But it's also true that at this time I don't think we have governments who use tax money properly. So if a billionaire is going to be useful.. maybe he can use his money to better effect. Not saying Elon is (or isn't).
