  • Do you strike you as intelligent?

Do you strike yourself as being an intelligent person.

My IQ test results and GED were taken in Pine Hills Youth correctional facility, and were above average! A lot of people I meet in real life have said I am very intelligent (with poor judgement and impulsivity).

A lot of people online tell me I'm an idiot and a dip shit!

Most of the comments I get in real life are that I am very intelligent though.

But this is about you! I honestly don't remember what my IQ results or GED results were and don't care. I was just told that it was above what the average person scores, which is remarkable, beings that I was kicked out of school for lighting my notebook on fire during class, and other stupid behaviors, so most of what I know is self educated!

And I can wax like a professor on anything related to History or Religion. When it comes to mathematics I'm extremely stupid, and wanted to commit suicide trying to learn the last stages of Algebra for an LPN license. Even as a a certified nurses aid, I was the only dewd in the class, and they said I didn't make the bed or wipe the scrotum of the manikin correctly, which makes me doubt my intelligence very much.

But it's really hard to determine how smart someone is. Einstein was a genius who people thought was an idiot, so you simply never know!

I also was in a typing class where I got faster , more words per minute , than anyone in the classroom!

My early IQ tests posited me as a genius. For the longest time I got the best grades.

Someone recently said hanging around me was like knowing Bill Gates.

And I have developed psychic abilities, but I haven't mastered turning them off and on.

I am an ancient telepath, meaning I suck at it, but it's there. The only thing is, it comes to me in a strange, slang language. Which occasionally bubbles to the surface..

When I'm with people I can hear them saying things besides what they're saying. I can hear their subconscious..

I don't know if it makes me smart, but it may be genius.

I can't figure out the mechanisms, though. But I give myself a little credit for making an effort to do so.

It's difficult for me to discern how I come across, though. I've intimidated people and have had my intelligence insulted by people, so... And of course people tend to determine intelligence based on social factors.

Personally, I find my intelligence annoying. I'm so uptight.

I found this chart i thought was interesting.

          9-types-of-intelligence-infographic.png

On the types of intelligence listed on the chart, I have a high linguistic and existential intelligence. I love words, I love verbalizing ideas and thinking about ideas verbalized by others, and I love philosophizing and contemplating the deeper side of existence

Naturalist, maybe above average. I have an interest at any rate. Some people are like encyclopedias when it comes to cataloging the natural world though, pretty cool.

intrapersonal, I feel like above average but only because i make a point to be. Interpersonal, I dunno man people often drive me nuts. But I think i'm also very perceptive when it comes other people.

Average to below average on spatial intelligence and mathematics lol. I cannot draw, I cannot math.

I suck at music and probably don't understand it well but I have a deep appreciation for it all the same

          I'm fairly physically coordinated

You seem intelligent to me, Matt. Though in some capacity frighteningly aloof.

Aloof can mean cool and distant. Is that what you meant?

When I said I was the only dude in the class, it means I was the only male.

No. But this is getting kind of personal. And it's not a measure of anything. You are intelligent, though.

I guess it's like you can't see anything beyond this reality you've constructed for yourself, at times, however.

And you attest, for you, it's a matter of life and death.

It seems to me you need more friends.

Most of us are of average intelligence, but most of us would say we are above average.

I have a lot of people I am aquatinted with and talk to.

I have very little interest in many friends, when I discover what most people talk about, and how highly irritating it is to be around such chatter.

I'm not saying I am a better person than they, but my interest is in connecting with Spiritual entities that are greater than myself, and doing their will.

I find that is not the interest of the average person, so feel like being friends with the average person, and being around such chatter, it alienates me from God, the Virgin Mary, and the Spiritual Empire and brotherhood I long to be connected to (and do their bidding).

I didn't take it that way . I just posted the thought that usually comes to my head when I think about my own intelligence, honestly.

I don't mean to sound elitist but sometimes it strikes me as, um, concerning, that the average IQ is 100

But I also think the whole concept of IQ is bullshit and doesn't encapsulate all the myriad of types of intelligences out there

i don't entirely believe that's true though. it's what i was taught in college psych classes, but i just did a quick google and while the search results can't agree on the highest ever IQ, they list a few different people over 200. since you can't have an IQ below 0, that kind of ruins the perfect bell curve idea. it could still be close enough to not really skew the results though.

i wonder who actually takes IQ tests now and if that affects the answer to this question. it seems like back in the day everyone took an IQ test, so it would be easy to tell what the actual distribution is. now they're really rare, and i'm not sure who actually takes them. probably not a perfect distribution of people anyway.

highly intelligent people use the quote feature instead of comments, because this is a really awkward way to converse.

Unless there are music and sports categories, there is no chance I'm winning Jeopardy.

The only arena I would say I was a prodigious talent at growing up is sports. I went far in Spelling Bees throughout elementary school and one of my art assignments was featured at the local art gallery showcase but I didn't have much of a passion for either of those pursuits.

It wasn't until Junior High when things started going off the rails. I ran with troublemakers and misfits for most of my Junior High and High school years. When half my friends landed in continuation schools, I started hanging out with my smarter friends again but I didn't really care for academics and learning until after High School.
