    Let the pawns go first

In Chess, the pawns go first ♟

The same logic applies to real life

I’m hardly ever the person who is eager to volunteer myself to be the first tryer or tester of anything.

For example, I never see new movies on opening weekend. I don’t like crowded theaters as there is always the noisy obnoxious ones in the crowd. But on opening weekend, these assholes are everywhere. Besides, I want the first wave of people to test it out first. Because I want to know if I should invest my time and money on a certain movie, or if it’s a just whiney lame show bombarded with woke propaganda.

This is the reason I wasn’t gung-ho on the vaccine either. I’ll gladly let the lemmings lead the way before I consider something new and untested like The jab.

However there are times when being a pawn can be beneficial. The ones who invested in Bitcoin early on are doing much better than the late comers. But instances like this are few and far between.

In chess I am a King. The most valuable piece on the board. The pawns can go ahead of me.

An "Ego" Rush Quite Often Ends With The Board Falling Off The Table.

    Taking The Kings With It.....

If the king doesn’t lead, how can he expect his subordinates to follow?

The King is pathetic, can only move one square at a time.

The Queen is the superior piece. She can do what she likes.

Tis true. Queen is a bad ass. I chose King because he is the most important piece. Even though fights like a wuss, when you lose your king the game is over.

However the queen is the 2nd most targeted piece, and she’s very important as well. I’d make my chess piece the queen if I was a woman.

King gives them marching orders. And if a pawn is loyal enough to make it to the other side, he gets promoted. It’s a reward-based system.

In this current game with Undies he has been very successful, and half of the pawns haven't moved at all lol

ha, i didn't even notice the lack of pawn movement. i feel like normally my pawns are wandering all over the place. at least early on, until they run out of places to go anyway.

Undies actually, since this thread brought it to my attention, i'd say it's a common trait of games with you that your pawns hold back and look similar to the one in this post

Jessica I noticed that too. I'm really not sure if my gameplay changed after talking about it here or if it's just more noticeable since we talked about it.

chess is a great example of a poorly run country/organization/whatever hierarchical situation you want to refer to. some useless asshole at the top, sitting around barely doing anything, and expecting everyone else to sacrifice themselves to help him succeed. while some second in command (or often lower, depending on the size of the hierarchy) is running around doing everything.

the queen is the true leader, by far. the best leaders lead by example. the most effective way to get people to follow you is to give them something to follow. if a leader is able to do any task presented, and shows that they are willing to do so, most of their citizens/employees/etc will be happy to step up and do the same.

Excellent example to show how OP is wrong.

Btw, the player is not the king, the king is not the leader (obviously), the player has to protect the king with tactical use of the other pieces.
Making it a principle to sacrifice pawns first in chess is a recipe for failure. Any tactical player knows how to take advantage of such simplistic thinking in their opponent

In ceremonies of the horsemen, even the pawn must hold a grudge.

You don’t play chess, so you don’t know what you’re talking about.

The only pieces that can move on the first turn are the pawns or knights. Sometimes playing the nights first is a good offense strategy to hop over the enemy’s front line to attack vulnerable rooks. But for the most part, the pawns are on the front line, and the most sacrificial pieces; I’ve sacrificed plenty of pawns to slay my opponent’s queens, rooks, and bishops, and prevailed. Of course it’s not usually wise to sacrifice too many pawns. But in the end it doesn’t matter how many pieces you lose, as long as you checkmate your opponent first.

So what you're saying is, not that you're necessarily the King, but not a pawn, either. That you have some value...or that you're better than others...

It’s all how you perceive yourself from within.
You are the King of your life; the other pieces are your support from other individuals in your life.

One could say the better ranked chess pieces are like people who have made their way up the status latter. And the pawns are the ones working to make it to the other end to get promoted to such positions like Knight or Queen etc.
