I want the honest truth here.

Do you or have you ever shopped at any thrift stores?

No I don’t. They smell funny.

If you're blown away by a tropical breeze, imagine a tropical storm!

I think you're blowing things totally out of proportion.

If you believe it's true then it must be in your own mind.

anyway yeah i have shopped at thrift stores. when i was a teenager it was a great way to buy clothes. now we have the internet and apps like Vinted and there's no reason to go to places that, like Joe says, smell funny.

I've both donated and shopped at thrift stores. The ones I frequently visit:

        1.Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity ReStore

        2.Goodwill Store

3.The Salvation Army Family Store & Donation Center

4.St Vincent De Paul Thrift Store

The Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity ReStore is a superb place to buy 2nd hand construction materials. Wood, boxes of nails n screws. Lighting fixtures and accessories.

Goodwill, St Vincent and Salvation Army are great places for themed dancing costumes pieces and recital props.

I don't think I could handle used underwear. Just going through the day then, randomly, I think about my nads touching something that another guy's nads touched.

In the UK we call them charity shops.
and if they're not for a charity they are vintage shops or antique shops.

shop isn't as pleasant a word as store, to me. The village stores here calls itself that so we do use both. Charity stores. That sounds weird.

It sounds too much like chop. A sharp, hard, sudden word. Better associated with axes than retail.

Ye Olde Pauper Shoppe? Or The Pauper's Bullocks Charitie Emporium? It needs to sound British.

I've been doing it for years, sometimes to rebuild after getting tossed out by my latest failed relationship. My oak veneer desk came from the Last Chance Thrift Shop on a Monday (everything is 50% off on Monday) for $35. It's a knock off of a Scan Design desk ad would cost maybe $600 if I could still find one. They didn't know what they had.

When I did theme park work I went to thrift stores looking for unusual knives and kitchen gadgets so I could cut hard foam in different ways. And any fiberglass or composite project had me buying all kinds of disposable clothes from thrift stores. These days I carry a UV flashlight looking for uranium glass or vintage head shop posters.
