  • Meth keeps me sober

In the video I forgot to mention Dopamine. It's very healthy to have an increase in Dopamine because you need Dopamine to move and do everything.

When have you heard of someone dying of a meth overdose? If Christ Farley and John Belushi used Meth instead of cocaine, they would still be with us.

If Bradley Knoell of sublime, heath ledger the joker, GG Allen, and countless celebrities just used meth instead of the drugs that killed them, they would still be with us.

I was such an alcoholic I would drink hand sanitizer, such a Benzo addict I had a grand mal seizure coming off it, a PCP junkie constantly breaking out in handcuffs, and stopped breathing from opioid overdose.

Meth got me off all that, and even good old marijuana makes me eat like a pig, get paranoid, and unmotivated. Meth makes me eat more healthy and improves motivation, concentration, and work performance.

Dont abuse it and rarely get euphoric off it, and get proper sleep and eat healthy, you will be just fine and life will be better than it was without it.

I think certain drugs can be perfect for certain people, where the same drug will destroy a different mind. I've never heard of meth being positive before, but I won't discount the experience.

That doesn't mean it would be a positive alternative for all the people you mentioned.

I would never condone meth, I don't find it particularly interesting from a recreational or spiritual perspective in-and-of-itself, and the side effects are rough, however I wrote a 15 page paper complete with citations in a night on it during college and got an A.

How about the fact that alcohol lowers inhibitions, makes people less coordinated, causes countless fatalities on the road, and people drink themselves to death all the time or die of the withdrawal.

Meth increases ability to drive and operate machinery, increases work performance, and soldiers performance in battle, can make symptoms of narcolepsy go away, can help a person get more exercise, and originally the name for meth was "Philipon" which means "love for work".

It made people love to work and study all day or all night.

I don't disagree, alcohol certainly has destructive potential that doesn't match it's benign image and Meth has been demonized in a way that portrays it as a scourge that it's pharmacological profile cannot live up to.

I'm somewhat amused when people who do Cocaine say they would never do Meth, you could probably make a venn diagram of their effects and pharmacological profiles and there would be significant overlap. Somehow Cocaine got an image of being more glamorous, I don't really find it differs all that much from Meth other than being a bit more numbing and perhaps it's shorter duration is more appealing. Although Crack is demonized as well and it's essentially the same drug as Cocaine, so there isn't much consistency on good vs bad drugs.

Meth made me an award-winning salesman, something I never gave a shit about. I just wanted the money, not the awards (useless plaques and trophies). When I worked for Circuit City in the early 90s I outsold my entire district and won a 3-day cruise.

A cruise packed to the bulkheads with Circuit City nerds and very few women.

The real curse for me was knowing how to make it. And I had it down to an art. I could assemble the precursors and have it in my veins in about 15 minutes. But it took a toll on my body. Aside from chest pains and all kinds of stomach issues I started to make kidney stones out of the blue. Nobody else in my family had this condition, but I can't be sure there's a direct link. Still, I knew a diet of meth, pizza and beer wasn't going to be good in the long run.

So I switched to crack, which for me was a better buzz. But it was expensive and few dealers wanted to trade for fresh (unstable) meth. So I fell into financial ruin and had to support the habit by stealing merchandise from the store. This was risky so I enlisted the help of another crackhead. I placed stuff where he could easily get away with it after removing the security devices. This went on for nearly a year.

Then I found out I had my first kid on the way. I was determined not to be another strung out Dad in my family tree, so I took a blotter trip and shut the crack cravings off like a switch. I cleaned up my act and got a job in a factory where I wouldn't have to persuade people for a living. That was 25 years ago and now I'm almost old enough to take money out of my IRA. But I'm still concerned I wrote checks on this body that will come due, soon.

At least I still have all my teeth!

That's quite a testimony. Sounds like you were abusing the hell out of it and not getting proper sleep and nutrition. I pay 100 dollars for a gram and it lasts me a week. How much meth would you do in a week?

A few grams, roughly $200 worth for the week. Crack of course was $200 a day, but that problem went away when I ran out of money. Then restarted when money arrived. I could just about be a meth head with no overhead. Sleep was not so difficult and unlike most speed freaks I was still basically fat. But on crack I was engaged fully to the Colombian diet plan.

By the way, I still have all my teeth because I got nausea from the taste that either meth or crack left. So I brushed them several times a day. The whole time I was strung out I had gleaming white teeth. Maybe THAT is why I won sales awards!

I did it for the kid. Otherwise I'd likely be dead or still strung out. I didn't actually do it for me at all. That's the plain truth of it. I stay off of it now because I'm fairly sure the next time I'll short circuit my heart. Even energy drinks are too much for me now. And of course, I don't have any veins (another reason I switched to crack).

As far as clean, naaaaaa, I'm still a toking fool. That's the deal I made with the Misses. As long as I stayed away from the hard shit, I can toke all I like. It's a lot cheaper too! It's been 25 years since I last used any of the shit drugs.

But I'm excluded from NA since I still smoke pot. Everybody still thinks pot leads to stronger stuff. Pot keeps me off the stronger stuff. The demon is fine with that.
