    Prozac!

    Does it work?

Not for me it didn’t. It fucked my life up more than I appreciated at the time. Gave me headaches and diminished my athletic performance.

Yet somehow drug companies convinced most of America they are depressed and need a daily pill to combat their negative feelings.

I wish horrible things upon the doctors and teachers who pushed my parents to get me on that stuff. As well as the drug companies who make this poison.

I agree it is over prescribed, but I'm not sure a significant amount of Americans aren't depressed. Some go for meth or heroin, others for prozac, and some for both or tried both

In this country, anti-depressants and other psychotropics are advertised frequently in the media. Encouraging meek minded people to ask their doctor to write prescriptions. Sometimes doctors get kickbacks from drug companies to get their patients prescribed on these pills. Very often at the doctor’s office they try to get you on drugs you don’t need.

Most of the time people have a form of situational depression. Rather than take action to improve their life, they turn to anti-depressants. Which doesn’t solve any problems and offers a so called bandaid solution at best. At worse they get fucked up from all the side effects that comes with anti depressants.

If you need a good bandaid drug for your situational depression I recommend a happy sativa strain, or facing the problem head on.

I noticed. I saw guns get advertised and promoted in a similar way. All good in the country of free opportunity I would think? Capitalism at its finest

It is so crazy to me that there are so many pharmaceutical ads in the US. Seems like a great way to convince everyone that they're sick, which I guess is the point.

To answer the OP, I'm not sure about prozac but I've been on a handful of SSRIs and SNRIs and none of them helped and many of them made things worse. Wellbutrin works well for me but it isn't a traditional anti-depressant.
