Have you ever been to court?

I have a few times and even have an upcoming court date for an infraction from last year that has been delayed quite a few times.
    Entering a military base unauthorized
    resisting arrest (tried to escape)
    long story kinda

Were you after those Area 51 aliens?

Anyway, I let lawyers handle my numerous run in's with the law.

      Haha. No

i was having a mental breakdown caused by being high I guess and I thought it would be a good idea to jump a 10 ft high fence onto a Marine base (since I used to be a marine) to get help.
they didn’t help me, just made it worse. I seen an opening for escape and I took it. Unfortunately I was caught.

My only brush with the legal system have been summonses to serve on a jury. The first time I was selected and had to hear a DUI case (guilty). The second time I was not selected. The case was against a man who broke into his ex-wife's house and started chasing her around with a hammer. He had already been ordered not to come into contact with her and then assaulted her in front of their 8 or 10 year old son. She escaped long enough to make it to the neighbor's house and get help, her deranged ex chasing her across the lawn.

The ex-wife and her son were both in the courtroom during the jury selection process. Very sad; the boy starting crying uncontrollably as the prosecution described the nature of his dad's crimes. He had to be led out of the room by his grandparents, I guess it was.

Anyway, dude was found guilty on all charges including attempted murder and was given 40 years in prison. Kind of sorry I wasn't on that one, but Kentucky only pays $7 per day (I think it was) so it was for the best.

Several times. Most of which I was not the defendant.

Well I'm under curfew again, so I may be back to court soon.

Spent all of last year in front of the courts because some dimwit wanted money.
Court is better spent when you have actually been charged with something.

Small spats should not need court action. Especially if they are on online forums

I haven't, but I mostly attribute that to being a white kid from the suburbs and knowing enough to ask to see a warrant.

Seriously, I'm pretty sure that a shitface drunk 20 year old of any other skin colour telling the police (rather aggressively) to come back with a warrant would have been treated much differently than I was. I lived in a very white, very affluent city, and the cops were as shitty as you'd expect.

Not as a participant. But I watched someone else squirm one time when a judge threw his case out against a friend of mine.

I was naked on a beach and convicted of offensive behaviour. Had to pay a fine. Never mind the fact that I was there for an organized naturist event. The police prosecutor made me look shifty - I naively thought he would ask genuine questions rather than attacking my character and I was undone.

                            True story

I was the plaintiff in a small claims court case 10 years ago, and I was offered to take my case to the TV show The Peoples Court on PBS. I got offered free airfare and hotel lodging in New York City for the show. I immediately accepted. However the defendant also had to agree to it, but he said no. We both would’ve gotten paid a few hundred dollars for being star cast members. Didn’t matter to him because he was camera shy. Such a bummer.

Nowadays I don’t think I’d wanna visit NYC.
