Recent forum events, and the cooperation it has inspired in us, got me to wondering: would we all get along in real life? I'd like to think so.
I think if I met any of you in real life it might be kind of awkward, at first at least. In a way getting to know people on Hip Forums was kind of like reading an interactive book. And like in a novel, I have a picture in my mind of what y'all look like, how you talk and sound and laugh, etc. Of course this is bound to be inaccurate, so meeting up at a coffee shop or something for the first time I'd realize I was sitting across from a total stranger. And that would feel weird.
I think a group setting, in a club or something, would be different. I imagine if a dozen or so of us got together, with a few drinks, we'd get to laughing pretty hard and would really get to know each other. Lolli and I have talked about going to the UK to visit babs and mally; I think that would be a blast. And when I retire I plan on travelling extensively. If I'm still in contact with any of the old HFers I wouldn't mind meeting up with some of you.
