    Would Trump Go Quietly?

Do you think Trump would try to stay in power if he lost the general election in November? Ordinarily this would seem far-fetched, but he's so unstable that I wouldn't be surprised if he tried something nefarious. Even if he did go I doubt it will be quietly.

If Trump claimed massive voter fraud, illegal immigrants and/or Russian interference compromised the results what would happen? What if his most ardent grass-roots supporters, who seem to believe about anything Trump says, decided to do something about it? What would the Secret Service and military do? What about Congress, which anymore has as much balls as a eunuch?

In an interview with Chris Wallace, Trump refuses to answer the question of whether he would accept the results of the 2020 election.

"I think mail-in voting is going to rig the election," Trump said. "I really do." "But are you suggesting you might not accept the results of the election?" Wallace continued. "I have to see," Trump said.

"The United States government is perfectly capable of escorting trespassers out of the White House," Joe Biden's campaign said in response to Trump.

I think he may try to stay, but I also think that he vastly overestimates the support he would have from the higher levels of the military.

"quietly" is not in trump's vocabulary.

i really can't see him losing anyway, so it's kind of a moot point.

Biden is up in the polls atm. As long as his handlers can convince him to keep his mouth shut he's got a good chance. Whenever Biden speaks his poll numbers drop, lol.

yeah, but wasn't hillary up in the polls at this point too?

biden has two major things going against him. for one, trump's already president. and for whatever reason (i assume it's because most people seem to be terrified of change), whoever is president pretty much always wins. at this point it would probably actually be a good idea to just make presidential terms 8 years, with no option of reelection. that way nothing would change as far as who is president, but whoever it is won't have to take 2 years off to fly around and campaign, and can actually help run the country instead.

also, nobody likes biden. literally, i've not encountered one single person who actually wants biden as president. yes, he's a very popular option, but only because voting for him is how you vote against trump. on the other hand, most people i encounter on a daily basis still think trump is the messiah.

In some ways reality is set. Earth is flat, pizza is good.

And in others its based on our consensus. America is a democracy.

It’s almost certain Trump will lose. I suspect this is more something he can tell himself after he losses to preserve his ego, because I really don’t think he’s persuasive enough to talk anyone into a civil war.

But reality is what we all accept. We’ll see what happens.

if i see that on trump's twitter feed, i'll know for a fact that he's dead and someone from his estate paid someone who isn't an idiot to handle his social media accounts.

Same here, but I assume your neck of the woods is similar to mine...rural and stupid. Not exactly a representative sample. I don't care for Biden either, but at least he'd be a bad president in the more traditional way. He should be given a chance to suck.

yup, that describes my neck of the woods pretty well. what worries me is that i'm starting to think it actually might be a representative sample. trump already won once after all.

i'm honestly not sure if giving biden a chance to suck is a good idea or not. yeah, i'm pretty sure he would be less awful than trump. but how long can a country survive on picking the less awful out of two incredibly awful choices? what we need is a complete overhaul, and if we keep voting for the guy who is slightly closer to what we're used to, that's not going to happen anytime soon. the only positive thing about trump is that he could, if we're lucky, push people to realize that our current political system is a shit-show and needs to be scrapped and replaced with something that actually has a chance of benefiting someone other than politicians.

but then i'm not even confident that trump could do that, since as we've just discussed, a good portion of the country thinks he's the best thing since fully automatic rifles.

I was very anti Trump until I recently did some digging. I always called him a bully and a thug but a genius at business. There is some very nefarious stuff going on behind the scenes in D.C. and Hollywood, and he is addressing them quietly. From all the digging I've done, I now realize we need an bully and a thug in the White House because of all the evil he is facing and tackling. In my eyes, he's one of the good guys.

I'm sure Trump isn't facing anything too dangerous, as the man wouldn't stick his neck out for anybody. If a global cabal of homicidal pedophiles were any danger to Trump, he would have gotten a deferment from the presidency due to bone spurs.
