The jury is going to make or break the case.

Getting 16 impartial jurors and four alternates isn't going to be easy.

There's likely going to be at least one or two poison pills out of the lot who will acquit no matter what.

I know voir dire is supposed to weed out the incorrigibles but that's often not the case.

Seems odd that a jogger would be wearing Timberland boots

For starters, they argue that he was not wearing running shoes, as was pointed out by various news reports. Instead, they contend that he was wearing “work boots.” As proof, they center on a still shot of the footage of his encounter with the McMichaels that seems to show that he is wearing heavy boots. These individuals argue that if he were truly a jogger, he would not be wearing this attire.

However, cameras in the construction site he entered shortly before his death show that he was indeed wearing running shoes.

This is justice? Speculation as to what footwear he had on and then, what, you make the case? If only the world were as cut and dry as "No man could ever jog in hiking boots." Bitch, please. We can't even put the toilet seat down. Much less never jog in hiking boots.

Where's the news about how he's a convicted rapist? Should we just assume as much cause he was black?

I did a lot of jogging in boots when I was in the Navy. Steel toe boondockers!

While the verdicts and sentencing are dramatic, I don't have a lot of confidence in Georgia courts (which is why I avoid them). Ordinarily retired law enforcement officers become full time cronies to the current law enforcement in any given Georgia county. Which is why the locals in Brunswick tried to sweep this under a rug. No word yet on their part in this case, they belong in jail for the cover up.

I'd bet these assholes fare better on appeal and the momentum that led to the dramatic conviction will have evaporated. But they'll be in jail for years before that happens. We've seen gang members receive less time for killing more people.

They killed a dude because he might of stolen a Dewalt tool.. There's no saying what he may of done with the tool once in his possession. He might of sawed his leg off. It's good thing they killed him to prevent that accident.

What are you implying here? Even if he was wearing boots, and not actually jogging, why would that matter?
