If it's spelled out in the HOA guidelines, then it should never have been built. Which means the father was careless and is now acting like a victim to save face with his children. That's the wrong message.

if youre dumb enough to buy a house with an HOA agreement you have to follow the dumb rules

Agree, I don't know what people expect. You're paying your $1000 a year or whatever in HOA fees for a reason, you can't be mad when the HOA enforces the rules you pay them to enforce

HOAs are like a double edged sword. While it's a drag to have your property's appearance dictated by a bunch of Karens on whether or not a basketball hoop or a covered motorcycle is allowed in your driveway. There are lots of trashy people out there who don't give a fuck about their home life, and bring down the neighborhood's property value with their trashy lifestyle.

Neighbors are fine, it's just snooty neighbors who think their life is negatively impacted by a shed down the street that you need to avoid.

Well I guess I get it to an extent... but the tree fort builder isn’t a victim. He knew the rules, but with this lockdown things are different... can’t even take your kid to a playground
