    The Billionaires Space Race.

    Makes me wanna upchuck.

Here we have three of the richest individuals on the planet racing each other to be the first in outer space. Okay so Branson won ... who cares WTF!

This is so fucking sick! Hey! I'm not a Liberal or a Dem or a Commie but fuck me Charles, wots right is right and wots wrong is wrong no matter your political preference.

For every minute these men spent in space with their buddies, eleven people on earth died of starvation.

93% of minimum wage earners in the USA can't afford a single bedroom apartment.

These "gentlemen" plus a half a dozen others around the world could end world poverty at the stroke of a pen. But no they would rather spend billions of dollars probably to make themselves more billions of dollars at a later date.

Pity they don't all go into space and not return!

They're a joke. Wannabe philosophers...maybe not Elon, but I'm hearing bad things about him, too.

We've all seemingly given up on anything but rocketry, also.

A new future is coming, though. We need to dispense with the negativity and dream big...REALLY BIG. BIGGER THAN MARS!

Did you watch bezos rocket take off and parachute back ? They didn’t go as high up as they thought they would...250k and you can go up there the next time with the wealthy people... they will also call you an astronaught without any training. That is not an astronaut - one who simply hops on a rocket.

i guess they identify as astronauts so there fore they are, Lol

Careful Dax, the path to libtard-ation is a slippery slope

Almost like you can’t depend on the hyper rich to spend their money effectively, and should increase taxation so they don’t take as many flights of fancy.

I’m a capitalist, but wealth is a self perpetuating engine, and it needs a few guardrails.

And whats more I doubt any of these "bilyon-airs" pay much income tax either. They most likely pay other people vast sums of money to ensure this.

I noticed he has been comparing himself to Picard several times ( 1) because he's going into space and 2) because he's bald like him :P ), but it had been pointed out how he's treating his employees and how hypocritical he rambled (before actually observing it himself! :P ) about how vulnerable the earth looks from space he has more in common with dr. Evil lol

If they didn't go the same would likely have happend to those eleven people.

Although these 3 rich people (and many more) should simply pay their taxes etc. which could contribute to help with societal problems and equality, its not so that this blatant unfairness is something dubious by definition. If they would act upon societal obligations they might still be able to partake in these endeveaours. Would it still be outrageous then? Or due to them?

Pity they don't all go into space and not return!
That would cost even more :P

Besides, this is likely the start of more meaningful activity in space. It may start with a wasteful competition among rich people, but sometimes progress starts with such things

This could mean one of two things:

              1. This could be the early development of outer space tourism

              2. Billionaires are escaping the planet because they know what’s about to go down. And we should worry.

Not just space tourism. Also exploration and exploitation

They have nowhere to go to... And when they have (which will for generations long depend on Earth anyway, so we could just cut them off from the neccessary supplies :P ) there will be rules.

What if there is another Earth on the other side of the Sun?..

For the sake of funzies would it be closer than Mars?

It isn't always necessary DD to take up an opposite view to make a point. Often a less negative and or pessimistic approach would carry much more weight. Just saying.
