How can you have a peace deal when there has never been a war between these two?

I saw talk of this a couple days ago. What bothered me was seeing that Trump was considering dealing off F-35 jets (top end, vertical take-off jets), to that country in UAE (Bahrain? I think)

Not sure that's a smart thing, since their leadership now may be good, but they have radical opponent party that could be in office in a few years that might be more at odds w/ Israel.

Was hoping that part of the deal gets reconsidered.

I'd love to take that jet for a test drive haha

I don’t know about these vert jets really. I’ll have to look this up. As for radical opponents, seems the radical can be any place. Canada has a radical left extremist in now. Can’t trust him. I don’t think any ruling government can ever be Completely trusted. Power corrupts.

I do see potential for problems in the future. Not sure this will ever be solved, but if others sign on, perhaps some will stand by the peace agreement and will push back on any who try to break this. That is the best that can be hoped for.

Seems like the UAE threw the Palestinians under the bus with this deal, but hopefully it will lead to some sort of two state solution in the future (although I'm doubtful about that).

I agree with (the mysterious) Rogue Admin. that you can't call this a peace deal. They have been working together for a while now, but just haven't really made a big show of it, and they were not at war.

Also, Beach Ball Bitch - As someone on what you would consider the "radical left", Trudeau is much, much closer to a centrist than he is to a socialist. I'm curious as to what he has done to make you think that?

They were hostile to eachother to the point it was a cold war for decades. They obstructed trade with eachother among other things, and of course gave financial and other support to each others enemies. This is supposed to stop now.
