Humans are social creatures, and fundamentally creatures of habit. Large, jarring disruptions in routine can cause all of these things to flourish-as can isolation.

I don't disagree with any of this, but a LOT of things have been proven to lead to depression, substance abuse, domestic violence, and economic collapse. Vilifying lockdowns during a global pandemic for those reasons seems to miss a big point... we didn't NEED to lockdown. South Korea, a nation of 55 million people, avoided a lockdown and a stalled economy with aggressive testing, contact tracing, and isolation. They have around 500 covid related deaths. Our federal government did nothing and the virus spread, and it caused state governments to panic and the kneejerk reaction was a lock down. And now we have 220,000 deaths.

Does the lock down suck? Yes. But don't forget it never shoulda gotten this far in the 1st place. Our leadership completely screwed this up and they are totally responsible for everything we are dealing with now
