    Joe Rogan Sells Out

Joe Rogan purportedly landed a $100 million dollar deal with Spotify and launched on his new platform this week. Notably absent from his catalog were many right leaning guests as well as some of his more provacative guests. This comes after Rogan assured listeners on a podcast when mentioning the move that he had full control over the show and that it would remain the same.

Being really into music, I immeadiately thought of the comparison of music bands selling out. Prior to digital music, bands were often called sell outs if they changed their sound or style to appease record labels and make music more palpable for the masses, often at the expense of alienating their fans that supported them to that point.

I probably was not going to listen to Rogan on Spotify anyways but I always appreciated the diverse range of guests he had, partircularly in such polarizing times.

I did see a brief vlog from Alex Jones saying the other episodes will migrate to Spotify eventually but for such a landmark deal, there seems something suspect about overlooking all those episodes by mistake.

Someone more edgy will just fill the void

They were too long anyway, why do they need to be three hours long in some cases?

Compromising for money is always selling out, yeah. That's a shame. It gives so much more power to an opposing view when people try and hide it or pretend it doesn't exist.

I'm surprised that Alex Jones didn't blame it on a worldwide globalist Conspiracy. Granted Rogan called him on his bullshit:

I'm a pretty hard leftist. Granted if I took 2 more steps to the left I'd be right wing. Jones is a snake oil salesman. The right right now bounces between being macho and playing the victim. I'm all for freedom, let Alex Jones spew his bullshit. Freedom doesn't release you from responsibility for your actions. Jones is paying quite dearly for his bullshit. To me he is no better than Jim Bakker, Jones followers are no better. Same bullshit different day. If you want to buy Alex Jones another Rolex and Armani suit while he stands next to a new Corvette while telling you he has to put on the uniform in order to tell you the truth then I only half way feel sorry for you for pissing away your money then so be it. Just don't piss and moan about being taken and at least be human enough to admit that you were taken.

Now from a business perspective. I've done my research into legal aspects of entertainment and I'm by no means an expert but in the most basic terms the $100m contract is essentially a loan against past and future income. To quote Tool "I sold out before you ever heard of me". Spotify pretty much lent Joe Rogan $100m based on previous income based on previous endorsements (like the supplements that he plugs at the beginning of his show) combine that with what he makes as a commentator for MMA, residuals for "News Radio" and "Fear Factor"add in anything he does for Netflix or Comedy Central. Plus he's pretty much left high and dry for any liability he's got for letting Alex Jones, Gavin McInnis, and Milo for spewing their bullshit. Personally I wouldn't want Alex Jones Sandy Hook bullshit hanging over my head from a financial perspective just because I gave him a platform. "Buy the ticket, take the ride" as the saying goes. It's a high risk investment. Cold splash of water that $100m is a very high risk loan. So probably Rogan is cutting loose liabilities. Think of it like that useless cunt that you had to drop like a hot potato when you realized that they were going to cost you more than they were worth. Sometimes self preservation is worth more than friendship. Any amount of life experience will tell you that.

Rogan already under scrutiny and having controversies at Spotify...

            Spotify Employees want Rogan Cancelled

Joe Rogan’s partnership with Spotify has already led to attacks from media outlets, political pundits, and even employees of the streaming company itself, proving that ‘mainstream’ success is not for independent thinkers.

A recent report from Vice gave an insight into the struggles of employees at Spotify since Rogan’s podcast, ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’, began its reportedly $100 million licensing deal with the company.

Sources told the outlet there have been 10 internal meetings at Spotify already, with numerous employees complaining Rogan’s views make them feel alienated and uncomfortable. Workers have objected to several episodes of the comedian’s podcast, including July’s interview with Abigail Shrier, author of the book ‘Irreversible Damage: The Transgender Craze Seducing Our Daughters’.

            Caitlyn Jenner calls Rogan Transphobic

On "TMZ Live," Jenner, whose relationship with her family has sometimes been fraught, defended daughters Kylie and Kendall Jenner and stepdaughters Kim, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian. She did not mince words either.

"He's a homophobic, transphobic a—," Jenner said of Rogan. "He does this all the time. My daughters have obviously done extremely well. He's gotten his fame by putting other people down and making jokes about it. My family has done it through hard work."

Rogan Walks Back statements about leftists setting forest fires in Portland

On the most recent episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience,” he said, “They’ve arrested people for lighting forest fires up there. They’ve arrested left-wing people for lighting these forest fires — air-quote ‘activists.’ This is also something that’s not being widely reported, you know, that people have actually been arrested for lighting fires up there.”

Joe Rogan apologized Friday after repeating a debunked claim that “left-wing” activists were responsible for wildfires in Oregon.

“I f—ed up on the podcast with Douglas Murray and said that people got arrested lighting fires in Portland,” the comedian and podcaster wrote on Instagram. “That turns out to not be true. I was very irresponsible not looking into it before I repeated it. I read one story about a guy getting arrested for lighting fires that turned out to be true, but the other s— I read about people getting arrested for lighting fires in Portland was not true. I repeated it without looking into it and it was a really f—ing stupid mistake that won’t happen again.”

I can't comment on the first 2 points but the third walking back statements that you later find to be false is called integrity. He made a statement that was called "Dangerous Misinformation" by the authorities in Oregon, including the FBI who has probably already infiltrated ANTIFA. Point being what motivation would the police, the fire departments, and the FBI have to lie on ANTIFAs behalf?

Without alleged forest arson I'm sure there's a lot that you can hang on them.

It sounds like we won't have to worry about Joe showing "integrity" soon because spotify employees are pushing for oversight of what's published on his podcast, if they can't cancel him. I think it was mostly a distraction because he wanted to host a presidential debate. He has made plenty of false claims on the show before.

people should just get over themselves and stop thinking they deserve to never feel "alienated and uncomfortable"

It's especially odd coming from a music platform, that is sure to have a bunch of Rap, Rock and Metal that will make some alienated and uncomfortable.

Rogan had Alex Jones on yesterday. Have not watched the episode yet but must say, damn, that move in-and-of-itself makes me reach for the humble pie.

That's why I say stand back and look at the whole situation first.

I have a lot of friends and family who served in the military and there's a training saying "Time, Distance, and Cover".

Take the time to look at the situation, get some distance for some clarity, and take cover to do so safely. That's also good advice for day to day life.

Not to mention he's stoned and/or drunk on some episodes.
