I don't know all of Janis's stuff from both eras but I think prefer with Big Brother and the Holding Company. The psychedelic edge they added made Joplin truly unique.

Audiogen True. But after she left Big Brother, Janis was trying her best to make it as a blues singer. Makes you wonder what would have happened had she lived more than 27 years? She had an incredible range: Rock. Blues. Gospel. Damn, I'm about to shed a tear or two just from listening to these old YouTube recordings. Imagine what she must have been like during a live performance?
