Having received an honorary Oscar in 2007, he went on to win one in 2016 for Quentin Tarantino's The Hateful Eight.

Morricone, who was simply known as "Maestro" in his home town of Rome, scored more than 500 films over seven decades.

I'm the only person I know who has the soundtrack to "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" in his mp3 player. Ecstasy Of Gold is my favorite.

I liked Eddie Murphy's reference to it in Delirious, early 80s.
Never heard the soundtrack of the G, B & the U, that would be cool.

That's what people do in the end :P

I have a lot of his soundtracks on mp3 (and Once upon a time on LP), I even listened to the Good, bad and Ugly one too much haha. I have more spaghetti western soundtracks than I have watched spaghetti westerns :-D and so also can't pick an absolute favourite in general or of Morricone specifically. Love this genre, partially because of its typical and above average soundtracks
