  • Dating App Profile Picture

Is this a good enough picture for a dating site? I detest taking pictures for myself, they always look so fake. This one I kinda look like normal. I'm wearing a hat, glasses and need to shave, though. I can't make up my mind.

yes it is a perfectly good picture for profile picture

Looks awesome. If that's how you currently look i say go for it. I second the railroad photo as well.

i agree with all of the above. this is a good pic, but the railroad pic is probably better. i don't remember what you look like in it, but i think generally pics of you doing things are a little better than headshot pics. of course, if whatever app you're using lets you put up more than one pic, then you should have both.

the railroad picture shows more of your personality. the headshot in this thread is boring. that's as brutal as i can get. it's a perfectly good picture but it's boring.

Agreed with everyone else! Try and put up a variety of photos--a headshot, railway photo, pics of you doing various things.

I think your original photo might be best. The rr tracks photo has more character, but you look older and grumpier.

The main weakness of the original photo is that you can't tell if you have a giant beer belly or not, so it would be good to follow up with some torso pics.

What kind of pic you should put up depends on who you are trying to attract. I suggest wearing a Stones T, since you obviously love them, so if you attract another fan, you'll have something in common immediately and a reliable conversation starter.

We can really only advise you about what bait to use if we know what you're trying to catch.

Actually, it's kinda what I thought to start with but kept to myself. The RR pic looks like I'm mad. I'm also kind of disheveled looking. I do like the idea of an outdoor pic though. It's just so rare for me to take a picture I'm happy with.

Rail pic is good but you have to crop most of it out so it's just you and not you lost in the background. What's the best recent photo you have? And you want them to see what you see so try something like a photo you like that captures your moment and then hopefully someone will see that moment with you and if they don't then they aren't for you.

Gotta remember not everyone will be attracted to a photo and then just make your biography part just the truth. You want someone to feel a connection when they read about you.

Pretty much when I do this im reading about them and the common interests we share Etc. Show a sense of Humor because that helps tremendously.

Like for the rail pic even the first pic of just crop a circle over it so your face in the circle and disregard the background. It'll show you went through a little effort into placing a profile photo.

Don't be afraid to make your Bio long. I love long biographies. If they ain't gonna read they ain't worth your time. People say short and sweet, it might work for some but I want to be able to PM someone straight away with a conversation about what I've read in their profile, not ask them questions in a PM that I should probably know the answers to you know?

                              But that's just me.
