What are you watching - YouTube edition

What random videos have you watched on YouTube lately? Post anything but music (since we already have a million threads for music videos)

Last night I got really stoned and watched Rutger Bregman and Jane Goodall in this panel on inequality at Davos in 2019 ? There were other panelists too but these two were the most interesting. Rutger Bregman sits in a room full of rich people and calls rich people out on their bullshit, and Jane Goodall gets deep and waxes philosophical about how the only thing that can save humanity is connecting our intellect with our love and compassion.

Planning to watch that as well :-D

Hope this thread is a success, I am interested in what good youtube has to offer, but only/main thing I 'watch' on youtube is music that's not on spotify or in my collection :P Oh yeah, watched a lot of making offs and Behind the scenes of Star Wars stuff as well awhile ago

Randomly, I watched some Gen Z guy watch at least one episode from every season of SNL to see if he found the show had become less funny as many people say. He concluded it was always hit or miss and he thought a lot of the perception that it's become less funny is tied to nostalgia.

I thought that was a fair perspective but then he started going off on other tangents about how the older seasons seem funnier because they are presented in best of sets and it seemed like he was implying that you couldn't selectively view skits on youtube of newer seasons and around that point he lost me and I didn't watch the last few minutes.

It's sadly, different now. Due to society's cynicism. Not saying the cast is bad, but they're plainly caught up in society's bullshit.

I loved that skit where Kate was a witch. And I always laugh at SNL. Funny people not being given their due.

It's society that is blurring the line between fun and the fourth reich. Hard to just have a laugh in such an atmosphere, but still so important and yes I have a crush on that Kate girl. I think that's her name.

But I'll tell anyone straight up... Well, you know.

Has anyone watched a free with ads movie on youtube?

I am wondering how frequent the ads occur. I randomly clicked on a free with ads movie and my queue got populated with a bunch of them. Some movies Free with ads on there include:
                • O Brother, Where are Thou?
                • The Terminator
                • Idiocracy
                • Major League
                • Wargames
                • Robin Hood: Men in Tights
                • Naked Gun 2 1/2
                • Beavis and Butthead Do America
                • Interview With a Vampire
                • Nacho Libre

                Not an exhaustive list...

I'm subscribed to too many streaming services to justify watching any movies with ads

I really need to trim those down and cancel a couple of them

I really recommend YouTube premium. I don't currently have it but I used to and it was pretty awesome, although I can't really recall if movies were available ad-free with premium. But I think they were

I searched pricing for premium earlier and found a couple articles discussing it and the perks. However, both of them mentioned comparisons to ad blockers, which I had forgot about. So I downloaded an ad blocker and it seems to work for the movies, I watched about 25 mins of a movie with no ads.
