I cannot believe that the (STING) Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen character is not in this movie.

I would watch it if it becomes available on one of my streaming services, just because I dig the setting, book(s), original movie adaption and I'm a scifi nut, but do not expect to love it.

I kinda like the quantness and mysterious atmosphere of the original special effects of the original movie. Special effects in this one look like a dime a dozen...

Do you recognize any of the Secondary cast names?

            I see there's quite a few international named actors/actress

Here's an idea, let's make a reboot of a film that totally bombed at the box office the first time, then stand around and scratch our heads as to why it bombed

This movie is just the first half of a two parter by the way, only covers the first half of the first novel, so it's probably going to be really annoying and end like as soon as he meets the Fremen

So here's a better idea, let's make a reboot of only half a film that totally bombed at the box office the first time, then stand around and scratch our heads as to why it bombed

I saw DUNE 2021 on Saturday afternoon.

Sooooo good..... I want to see it again.
Reboot, but wayyyyyy better than original.... with a razor's edge slightly altered story.

I didn't have not one single complaint about DUNE. Not one.

All character choices are "spot on" casting..

I don't think I moved in my seat the whole movie. My visuals were zoomed in with excitement.

Wow, so its better than you expected?

CG action seemed over the top in the trailer.

                  Wayyyy better than expected.
No hi-tech CG hand held laser guns.
                  No Weirding Modules
                  No guts/gore money making

                  Epic sword n knife battles.
More of a tribal, spirited, die with honor by slow blade feel.

                  Complete hatred amongst clashing Houses.

                  Wicked dreams sequences.
Way more in depth character development.

Paul Atreides, convincing character with a mix of youthful power, respect and innocence. He's gonna go far in acting. He did great. Totally sold it

I watched DUNE at Movie Tavern in Brookfield on a laser projection SuperScreen DLX auditorium with an oversized screen and Dolby Atmos sound.

Most incredible viewing and listening experience ever.... 10 star

Sounds like the way to go to watch a good movie

Not to be negative, but I still don't think it's going to do that great at the box office, you have the get people in the cinema first no matter how good it is. I'm sure I'll like, bit it's a bit too fringe
a $40 million opening week is a bit so so

Thanks for the review I am definitely going to see it.

I've read every Dune book from Frank Herbert's 1965 science-fiction novel to Navigators of Dune (2016) by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson.

I'm not boasting when I say I probably know more about the Dune Universe than 99.98% of the population.

I'm debating on seeing it in 3D (20+ miles from me) or just IMAX (7 miles from me). 3D flicks often leave me cold, but I know the technology has advanced. The very best 3D show I ever saw was Muppet Vision 3D at Disney World. It was amazing in terms of quality and looking so real people were reaching in front of them (I knew better). The first Dune is on Prime right now for free.

I never hear much about the second version, I think it was a made-for-TV miniseries, I forget.

Wouldn't bother with the 3d version myself, but hey that's just me. Esp if it was not made explicitly to be watched in 3d
