What movie traumatized you as a kid?

My nightmare movie was called The Legend of Hell House and it kept me sleepless for a week after watching it for the first time when I was a 8 year old.

I remember watching a movie called worm eaters or something like that, where people would eat worms and then turn into giant worms. Made me want to never watch another movie.

The sequel to the Wizard of Oz, the one where they send Dorothy to an insane asylum. It was so scary I couldn't leave the couch so I sat and watched it in complete terror but couldn't turn it off lol

The animated Animal Farm. I thought it was going to be like Disney.

Hmmm.... maybe that Killer Clown movie from the 80s. Forgot the name of it.

Killer Clowns from Outer Space. That's it.

The original movie title was 'Killer Klowns' but since there were so many slasher movies out at the time, they changed the name to 'Killer Klowns from Outer Space' hoping the public wouldn't think it was just another slasher movie, and hoping to attract fans of the sci-fi genre

Poltergeist and Watership Down stand out.

Same. Based on some film analysis reviews I've watched recently, apparently the movie is not all that scary. I found it as scary as any monster movie or R-rated horror movies I saw around the same age.

It's totally not, if you watched it now you'd be like: "really?" It's so cheesy.

Poltergeist was unsettling enough. 2 and 3 are arguably worse movies, but the introduction of creepy old man spooked me the flick out.

Twilight Zone the movie used to bug me as well...the mutant kid who takes away his sister's mouth, and his other sister (I think) gets sent into a cartoon and is eaten by a cartoon monster.

Boogedy was scary as well. It was a TV special I think on ABC'S Disney hour or something about a pilgrim ghost.

There was another movie that scared me with Christopher Lloyd...he had his head cut off and sewn back on.

I would stay up late watching free HBO and I used to hate that Creepshow guy.

As a kid, death in general, the ugliness of corpses, was much more striking.

Not a movie, but I used to freak myself out staying up alone watching Unsolved Mysteries with Robert Stack, too.

Disney has a real scary Hansel and Gretel, too.
