    Yay! Another "Jurassic ________" Movie!

How many does this make? We up to "Jurassic Multiverse" yet?

Time to put a fork in it.

Not until we squeeze every last penny out of it's decaying corpse Pete. Every...last...penny. Dammit!

The next one should be "Jurassic Time Travelling Multi-Dimensional Bitch Dinosaurs From Hell vs. Jason." 100% CGI too.

The 2 Jurassic World movies are among the top 20 highest grossing films ever. I'm sure spinoffs or sequels come down the pipeline to add to the Jurassic Cinematic Universe at some point.

Yah it's wild that the practical effects they primarily used in Jurassic Park look more realistic in most scenes than the CGI of the newer ones.

I find that to be true of all movies that use CGI. The first 6 Star Trek movies vs. all the other ones look far more realistic.

I think CGI can be used effectively and convincingly but it seems like when it's overused, there is both an uncanny valley effect and the scene or movie becomes so stylized that it seems almost cartoon-ish.

        Meh

I haven't been to a new movie in years.

This modern day sequel-syndrome of the movie industry ain't gonna convince me to come back and spend my money.

I'll be going to watch it.

I hope they promote the movie with a cool popcorn tin or drink cup. I would even buy a raptor mask maybe. Or definitely a triceratops.

          I agree.

But it still sounds weird that the cgi in Jurassic park look better than in the newest movies. Shouldn't be like that

The first "Abrams Universe" Star Trek was almost unwatchable to me. Visually "loud" if you know what I mean.

tumbling.dice Yeah, I can understand why Trekkies who grew up with the OS don't like it. I myself have far less trouble with it. Especially the first reboot movie that you find pretty much unwatchable I find pretty good and a very worthy addition to the Star trek movies :P (sorry!)

I assume it’s a result of laziness. They know Jurassic Park is a popular franchise, and there is an army of devoted fans who would watch it regardless the amount of effort put forth to making it. So they simply don’t work as hard.

It was used sparingly in Jurassic Park. I don't know if the CGI looks better necessarily but the attention to other aspects of cinematography such as distance and lighting perspective in that movie is quite remarkable.
